The System Administrator cum IT Stores Assistant is responsible for maintaining the organization's IT infrastructure, providing technical support, and managing the IT inventory and stores. The role involves ensuring smooth functioning of computer systems, networks, and IT equipment while maintaining accurate records of IT assets and stock.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nSystem Administration\n \u2022 Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, operating systems, and applications.\n \u2022 Monitor and maintain network infrastructure including LAN, Wi\-Fi, and internet connectivity.\n \u2022 Perform routine system updates, backups, and security checks.\n \u2022 Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.\n \u2022 Provide technical support to employees for desktops, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment.\n \u2022 Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.\n \u2022 Maintain antivirus protection and system security policies.\n \u2022 Coordinate with external vendors for IT service and maintenance.\n\nIT Stores Management\n \u2022 Maintain inventory of IT equipment such as computers, laptops, printers, accessories, cables, and peripherals.\n \u2022 Record and track IT asset allocation to employees and departments.\n \u2022 Monitor stock levels and report shortages.\n \u2022 Maintain proper documentation for IT purchases, warranties, and AMC records.\n \u2022 Coordinate procurement of IT hardware and accessories when required.\n \u2022 Handle issuing and receiving of IT equipment from stores.\n \u2022 Maintain IT asset register and stock records.\n\nDocumentation and Reporting\n \u2022 Maintain IT asset management records.\n \u2022 Prepare reports related to IT inventory and system status.\n \u2022 Maintain service logs and issue tracking records.\n \u2022 Ensure compliance with company IT policies.\n\nNetwork & Server Management\n \u2022 Install, configure, and maintain network servers and ISP infrastructure systems.\n \u2022 Manage authentication servers such as RADIUS.\n \u2022 Monitor bandwidth usage, uptime, and network performance.\n \u2022 Maintain servers used for billing systems, CRM, and monitoring tools.\n\nNetwork Monitoring\n \u2022 Monitor ISP network devices using tools like Zabbix, Nagios, or PRTG Network Monitor.\n \u2022 Detects outages, latency issues, or packet loss.\n \u2022 Coordinate with NOC teams to resolve network issues.\n\nUser & Access Management\n \u2022 Manage admin access to routers, switches, and servers.\n \u2022 Maintain secure login credentials and role\-based access.\n \u2022 Control access to network devices and ISP management systems.\n\nSecurity Management\n \u2022 Configure firewall rules and protect ISP systems from cyber threats.\n \u2022 Maintain logs for network access and server activities.\n \u2022 Apply system patches and security updates.\n\nIT Stores & Asset Management \nMaintain inventory for:\n \u2022 Core routers\n \u2022 Distribution switches\n \u2022 OLT devices for fiber networks\n \u2022 ONU/ONT customer devices\n \u2022 Fiber splicing tools and accessories.\n \u2022 SFP modules and patch cords\n\nTrack equipment from vendors such as:\n \u2022 Cisco\n \u2022 MikroTik\n \u2022 Ubiquiti\n \u2022 Huawei\n \u2022 ZTE\n\nStock Management\n \u2022 Maintain stock of fiber cables, connectors, media converters, routers, and switches.\n \u2022 Track minimum stock levels for field installation teams.\n \u2022 Monitor spare devices for quick replacement during outages.\n\nAsset Tagging & Tracking\n \u2022 Assign asset tags to all network equipment.\n \u2022 Maintain details like MAC address, serial number, IP address, and installation location.\n \u2022 Track equipment deployed at towers, POPs, and customer premises.\n\nEquipment Issue & Return\n \u2022 Issue routers, ONUs, and networking equipment to installation teams.\n \u2022 Maintain records of equipment issued to field engineers.\n \u2022 Track damaged or returned devices for repair or replacement.\n\nProcurement & Vendor Coordination \n \u2022 Raise purchase requests for networking hardware and IT equipment.\n \u2022 Coordinate with telecom vendors and suppliers.\n \u2022 Evaluate quotations and technical specifications.\n \u2022 Track warranty and AMC contracts for networking devices.\n\nDocumentation & Reporting \n \u2022 Maintain IT asset register and network equipment database.\n \u2022 Prepare reports on:\n ◦ Stock levels\n ◦ Equipment deployment\n ◦ Faulty devices\n ◦ Spare inventory\n \u2022 Maintain documentation for POP installations and network diagrams.\n\nSupport for Field & NOC Teams \n \u2022 Provide hardware and tools required for fiber installation and network expansion.\n \u2022 Maintain spare routers/ONUs for customer fault replacements.\n \u2022 Support troubleshooting by checking device configuration and logs.
