In this role, you will deliver technical studies, define equipment requirements, and help create the tools, methods, and insights that support reliable, advanced power system solutions. Your work will directly contribute to projects that matter for customers and for the energy transition.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform technical studies and deliver clear, high-quality study reports.
  • Produce specifications for high-voltage (HV) equipment and support technical definition activities across your area of expertise.
  • Witness equipment testing and help ensure solutions meet technical and quality expectations.
  • Act as a technical point of contact in your specialist area, providing guidance and support to peers.
  • Work directly with customers, communicating technical information clearly and building confidence in proposed solutions.
  • Develop and improve engineering tools, design guides, and processes to support consistent, efficient delivery.
  • Contribute to new HVDC technology developments, including control and protection solutions, analysis techniques, and system study tools that improve project outcomes.
  • Represent the business externally through technical papers, industry events, and participation in working groups such as CIGRE (International Council on Large Electric Systems), IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission), and IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers).
  • Follow company policies, Code of Conduct, and environmental, health, and safety (EHS) requirements, including training and safe working practices.

Qualifications:

  • Significant experience in industrial engineering roles.

  • A Master of Science (MSc) degree or higher in Power Systems Engineering is preferred; equivalent experience and professional achievement will also be considered.

  • Experience delivering technical studies and study reports in a power systems or related engineering environment.

  • Experience producing technical specifications for HV equipment.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.

  • Clear technical communication, reporting, and presentation skills.

  • Strong problem-solving and root cause identification skills.

  • Structured knowledge-sharing approach, with the ability to support and guide peers.

  • Ability to deliver high-quality work to deadlines with urgency and attention to detail.

  • Self-motivated, proactive, and results-focused approach.

  • Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
