Systems Administrator

SUMMARY:

Responsible for the overall installation, configuration, and maintenance of all servers, physical and virtual. Responsible for the support and monitoring of all servers. Responsible for the planning and deployment of all server upgrades. Implements SAN/NAS devices, databases, security access, and data jobs for servers.

Defines and configures system parameters for all servers. Works closely with other Administrators to build and maintain overall infrastructure. Assists overall IT operations with adherence to IT Policy & Procedures, CRIT TICS and Compact.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for overall server administration.
  • Responsible for the operation and monitoring of server connectivity including modification of Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, and overall server topography.
  • Provides server configuration for users and operations.
  • Designs, configures, deploys & maintains physical & virtual servers, NAS/SAN, backups, and data storage.
  • Routinely inspects all server equipment, identifying potential problems and repairing as needed.
  • Installs server hardware/software and configures, maintaining proper security levels and access.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of technology.
  • Contacts vendors with regards to software and hardware.
  • Ensures quality of support by communicating with all users and offering assistance as needed.
  • Works with users, vendors, and stakeholders on assigned IT projects.
  • Assists with completion of Help Desk and IT Requests.
  • Provides proper guidance and training to Network Technicians.
  • Any other duties as set forth by IT Director.

Proper understanding Server Operating Systems and uses for configurations related to casino operations. Knowledge of IP addressing, subnetting, and networking protocols for 1Pv4 and 1Pv6. Knowledge of desktop & server operating systems commonly used for business such as Microsoft, Linux, etc. Knowledge of networking services such as 115, FTP, port forwarding, port security, SMTP, HTTP, HTTPS, DNS, DHCP and

other common services. Knowledge of virtual systems and best practices for managing. Knowledge of project management and documentation skills. Excellent knowledge of best practices for management, security, and monitoring of server infrastructure.
