This is a senior-level opportunity for an experienced identity and access management professional to oversee and optimize a large-scale Okta environment supporting mission-critical government operations. You will play a key role in ensuring the security, performance, and reliability of enterprise identity infrastructure while driving automation and continuous improvement initiatives. Working in a fully remote environment, you will collaborate with technical teams to enhance system performance, strengthen authentication services, and support evolving business needs. The role combines hands-on system administration with technical leadership, process optimization, and strategic technology planning. It is ideal for professionals who enjoy solving complex infrastructure challenges while mentoring others and implementing modern identity management solutions. Your expertise will directly contribute to maintaining secure, resilient, and scalable enterprise systems.

Accountabilities:

  • Administer, configure, maintain, and optimize the enterprise Okta environment and its supporting infrastructure.
  • Plan, deploy, and support identity and access management solutions while ensuring system stability, availability, and performance.
  • Configure and maintain integrations between Okta and enterprise technologies, including Active Directory, APIs, firewalls, and Zero Trust security solutions.
  • Analyze and resolve complex software, authentication, and connectivity issues affecting users and enterprise systems.
  • Perform capacity planning, performance monitoring, system upgrades, and infrastructure enhancements to improve service reliability.
  • Develop automation scripts and administrative tools to streamline operational processes and improve efficiency.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and system administration standards.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentor system administrators, deliver training, and support knowledge sharing across the team.
  • Recommend and implement technology improvements aligned with organizational goals and evolving cybersecurity best practices.

  • Requirements:

    • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience administering enterprise Okta environments with progressively increasing technical responsibility.
    • Demonstrated experience deploying, configuring, and maintaining Okta in large-scale enterprise environments.
    • Strong expertise integrating Okta with Active Directory, enterprise applications, APIs, firewalls, Zero Trust architectures, and related identity technologies.
    • Solid understanding of identity and access management principles, authentication protocols, and enterprise security best practices.
    • Experience performing system performance analysis, infrastructure optimization, automation, and operational support.
    • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
    • Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor system administration teams.
    • Current Okta certification from a recognized technical certification provider.
    • Must possess an IT-II Non-Critical Sensitive designation or Tier 3 (T3) background investigation.
