Systems Engineer
All About You
The Systems Engineer works with the AC equipment, controls, and customer contractors to integrate our batteries into battery energy storage projects (BESS). They are responsible for implementation (during development and execution through COD, both on site and remotely) and testing of the systems and communications to ensure that all of the customer performance safety, and grid requirements are met.
Requirements
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering preferred, other engineering disciplines considered
- Min 2-3 years of experience in systems engineering environment.
- Fully fluent in English. Spanish or French speaking a plus.
- Knowledge of grid codes a plus
- Skilled with MS Office, Jira, PLM Systems
- Knowledge of Scada, Modbus, and other networking protocols
- Ability to work autonomously for problem solving and troubleshooting
Responsibilities
- Responsible for performance / technical requirements of the product and their implementation into sub-systems. He is responsible for the conformity of the design to the product requirements
- Defines the architecture (Batteries + Power Conversion + Scada or Power Management Systems) and the specification of the product and validates the specification of sub-systems
- Support the specification of sub-systems and the verification cross matrix
- Develops high level design specs, block diagrams, system interfaces, partitions resources, compliances matrices, and uses technical and economic trade-offs to establish the best system design
- Implements Solution integration tests during design phase and on-site during commissioning
- Validates product/Solution tests procedure and approves the product tests results to be aligned with product performance guarantees
- Implement and test equipment to provide cloud-based tools for remote monitoring
- Provide support to service team for projects in operation as needed
- Travel to sites of up to 20% will be required
