Job Description:

Salary: $48-50,000/year

This position serves Leon, Wakulla, Gadsden and Jefferson Counties and requires some travel.

Scope of Position: Provide excellent case management and career counseling to SNAP E&T and TANF customers.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide individualized assessment of work, family, and personal development needs and opportunities

  • Build professional one-on-one working relationships with customers to assist in eliminating challenges that are hindrances to obtaining and retaining employment

  • Maintain regular contact with customer to monitor job retention, satisfaction, and career progression while addressing emerging needs

  • Accurately assess customer needs and refer to appropriate community service or social service agencies when needed

  • Encourage customers to participate in and follow through with planned activities as outlined in contract with funding agency

  • Oversee customer activities and assist with workshop schedules

  • Create solutions to customer attendance problems

  • Maintain organized database of customers and keep detailed documentation of all contacts

  • Maintain customer files as specified by CSCR

  • Provide consistent and comprehensive case management follow-up and retention services, ensuring that post-placement contacts are made as required by specific contract and accommodating customer work schedules

  • Document all participant contacts and activities in case progress notes

  • Answer questions about program requirements

  • Oversee participants’ case management files and ensure contract regulations are adhered to

  • Operate in the Career Centers or in the community as needed

  • Assist in case note and file audits

  • Work closely with Recruiter to prepare customers for Work-Based Learning and unsubsidized employment

  • Other opportunities as available

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Career counseling experience

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and document visits and contacts

  • Demonstrated telephone, computer, and written communication skills

  • Ability to maintain flexibility as needs of contract or contractor require

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Social Work, Human Resources, or a related area preferred

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Florida Workforce Professional Certification Tier I required (must be completed within 30 days of employment)
