The role requires strong analytical skills, experience with tax engines, and the ability to ensure compliance with evolving tax regulations.<\/span><\/span> <\/span>

Indirect Tax Compliance<\/b><\/span><\/span> <\/b><\/span>
<\/p><\/div>

  • Prepare, review, and support the <\/span>timely <\/span>filing of <\/span>multi\-state sales and use tax returns <\/span>in accordance with <\/span>statutory deadlines.<\/span><\/span> <\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Perform detailed <\/span>reconciliations between tax engine outputs, sub\-ledger systems, and general ledger accounts <\/span>to ensure accuracy and completeness.<\/span><\/span> <\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Analyze <\/span>transaction\-level data <\/span>to <\/span>identify <\/span>tax calculation errors and implement corrective actions.<\/span><\/span> <\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Support <\/span>tax engine configuration updates <\/span>(Vertex, <\/span><\/span>Sovos<\/span>, AvaTax) to reflect legislative and regulatory changes.<\/span><\/span> <\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Maintain <\/span>documentation and audit\-ready workpapers <\/span>supporting return filings, reconciliations, and adjustments.<\/span><\/span> <\/span>
    <\/span><\/li>
  • Monitor <\/span>regulatory developments <\/span>and assess potential financial and operational impacts to ensure proactive compliance.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span>

    Indirect Tax Audits & Controversy Support<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span> <\/b><\/span><\/span>
    <\/p><\/div>

    • Assist <\/span>in managing <\/span>state and local sales and <\/span><\/span>use<\/span> <\/span>tax audits, including data gathering, response preparation, and tracking auditor requests.<\/span><\/span> <\/span>
      <\/span><\/li>
    • Prepare <\/span>detailed schedules, transaction samples, and supporting documentation <\/span>for auditor review.<\/span><\/span> <\/span>
      <\/span><\/li>
    • Analyze <\/span>audit findings <\/span>and assist in discussions related to audit resolution.<\/span><\/span> <\/span>
      <\/span><\/li>
    • Support documentation of <\/span>taxability determinations and <\/span>exemption <\/span>eligibility.<\/span><\/span> <\/span>
      <\/span><\/li>
    • Maintain organized <\/span>audit files and documentation <\/span>ensuring traceability from transactions to reported returns.<\/span><\/span> <\/span>
      <\/span><\/li>
    • Identify <\/span>process improvement opportunities to reduce future audit exposure and strengthen compliance.<\/span><\/span> <\/span>
      <\/span><\/li>
    • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and <\/span>leverage <\/span>automation tools such as Alteryx to enhance efficiency and data analysis.<\/span><\/span> <\/span>
      <\/span><\/li>
    • Conduct <\/span>tax research <\/span>to support ad hoc inquiries and business requirements.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span>

      Required Skills and Qualification<\/b><\/span><\/span> <\/b><\/span>
      <\/p><\/div>

      • Experience in <\/span>Sales & Use Tax Compliance / Indirect Taxation.<\/span><\/span> <\/span>
        <\/span><\/li>
      • Familiarity with <\/span>tax engines such as Vertex, <\/span><\/span>Sovos<\/span>, or AvaTax.<\/span><\/span> <\/span>
        <\/span><\/li>
      • Strong <\/span>analytical, reconciliation, and data interpretation skills.<\/span><\/span> <\/span>
        <\/span><\/li>
      • Experience supporting <\/span>tax audits and regulatory compliance activities.<\/span><\/span> <\/span>
        <\/span><\/li>
      • Exposure to automation tools or data analytics platforms (e.g., Alteryx) is a plus.<\/span><\/span> <\/span>
