Tax Manager - Associate


Support Securities Services clients with high-quality Australian tax reporting, leveraging a leading custody platform and growing client base. Lead delivery, controls, and client query management while partnering with Sydney tax managers, operations teams, and the offshore COE.

As a Tax Manager within Investor Services – Tax Services (Securities Services), you deliver tax services products for internal and external clients, including responding to client tax reporting queries. You support Sydney tax managers in servicing top-tier Australian superannuation funds and managed investment trusts by ensuring accurate, timely delivery of tax reporting outputs under SLAs. You maintain a strong controls environment, partner with operations and offshore teams, and drive issue resolution and continuous improvement across processes and products.

Job Responsibilities

  • Review and sign off tax distributions, tax returns, BAS returns, tax adjustments, and supplementary tax reports for unit trust and superannuation clients.
  • Deliver all client outputs in line with agreed timetables and SLAs, ensuring completeness and quality throughout the cycle.
  • Manage client queries on tax reporting requirements, providing clear responses and subject matter guidance.
  • Support Sydney client tax managers by building deep understanding of client deliverables and acting as an SME for tax-related questions.
  • Maintain a strong control environment for tax reporting by partnering with local operations and ancillary teams and enforcing process discipline.
  • Resolve operational issues through research and engagement with relevant teams, driving fixes and preventing recurrence.
  • Drive client and process initiatives including projects, process improvements, and product development, partnering effectively with the offshore center of excellence.

Required qualifications, skills and capabilities

  • Tertiary qualification in Tax, Accounting, or related discipline
  • 6+ years experience in tax reporting within financial services and/or professional services
  • Strong knowledge of Australian tax regulations for unit trusts and superannuation clients
  • Strong planning and time management with proactive ownership in a dynamic workload and strong control mindset

Preferred qualifications, skills and capabilities

  • CA / CPA / CTA qualification
  • Experience supporting top-tier institutional investors (superannuation funds, managed investment trusts) in a custody/servicing model
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with offshore delivery centers and local operations teams to deliver controlled outcomes
  • Experience contributing to product development and process improvement initiatives within tax services
