This is an exciting opportunity to join a strong and dedicated team at Debenham High School, who make a significant contribution to the success of young people in our school. Our team of teaching assistants, led by our Special Educational Needs Coordinator, work alongside teachers to support students within and outside the classroom.
Teaching Assistants provide support to the teacher and through this to pupils and to the teaching of the curriculum. Teaching Assistants work under the direction of the Teacher, whether with the whole class, a small group, or an individual pupil, to ensure that all pupils achieve their full potential.
You will be a well organised good communicator with good teamwork skills. You will be competent in literacy and numeracy and be able to adapt according to the needs of the students and situations you will be working with.
Debenham High School is a high achieving Church of England secondary academy, with approximately 714 students aged 11-16, and serves a catchment area north-west of Ipswich in rural Suffolk. The school is a founder school of the Heart of Suffolk Education Trust, which comprises three successful Church of England schools, all based in the heart of Suffolk.
