Team Lead & Architect Analytics Platform (m/f/d)

We are expanding our team and are looking for a Team Lead & Architect Analytics Platform for our headquarters in Frankfurt am Main. In this role you will lead our global IT Analytics Service and be responsible for the architecture and strategic development of the KION Analytics Platform (KAP).

Tasks and Qualifications:

Your responsibilities:

  • Overall responsibility for the KION Analytics Platform (KAP), including strategic roadmap and budget planning.

  • Define target architecture, design principles and technology standards for analytics and semantic layers.

  • Ensure a scalable, secure and cost‑efficient platform design using partners/technologies such as Databricks, Dremio, Power BI and cloud services.

  • Lead delivery of analytics use cases from requirements gathering and data provisioning to implementation support and operations.

  • Responsible for stable platform operation, performance monitoring and adherence to Service Level Agreements.

  • Promote continuous improvements of development, deployment and monitoring processes (DevOps / DataOps).

  • Implement and support global KION AI use cases in collaboration with business stakeholders.

  • Lead, coach and support the professional development of the global team of Data Engineers.

What we are looking for:

  • Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field

  • Proven experience (7+ years) as a Big Data Solution Architect or similar roles, preferably within a large enterprise environment

  • Deep understanding of Big Data concepts, architectures, and technologies, with a strong focus on the Microsoft Azure ecosystem (Azure Data Lake, Databricks, Dremio, Power BI, Azure Data Factory, etc.)

  • Knowledge about other cloud platforms (AWS, GCP), data governance, and security best practices

  • Experience with data warehousing, ETL processes, and data modeling techniques

  • Familiarity with industrial or manufacturing data landscapes

  • Strong proficiency in SQL and at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Scala)

  • Experience with agile methodologies and DevOps practices

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving challenges

  • Experience in managing and mentoring technical teams

  • Very good knowledge of English, German is a nice to have.
