We are looking for a strong and commercially minded Collections Team Leader to help take our Collections function to the next level.


This is a key leadership role for someone who can drive performance, lift capability, strengthen accountability and support a team through continued growth and operational improvement. You will work closely with the Head of Collections and Collections & Recoveries Manager to support day-to-day performance, improve operating rhythms, strengthen quality and compliance, and contribute to ongoing process improvement.


We are looking for someone who brings more than people leadership. The right person will be data-driven, commercially focused, confident managing performance and capable of helping a team operate at a higher standard.

Asset Finance collections experience is preferred, but not essential. Your ability to lead well, drive performance, improve capability and bring structure, energy and accountability to the team is more important.

Sydney based is preferred, although Melbourne can be considered for the right candidate.

You will:

  • Leading, coaching and developing a high-performing Collections team.

  • Driving team performance, maximising recoveries and minimising losses.

  • Setting clear expectations and holding the team accountable to agreed standards, KPIs and behaviours.

  • Working with the Head of Collections and Collections & Recoveries Manager to implement strategies aligned to business goals.

  • Acting as the first point of contact for team escalations, complex matters and business queries.

  • Identifying capability gaps and delivering practical training, coaching and support.

  • Conducting regular QA, account and activity reviews to ensure quality, compliance and consistency.

  • Using data, reporting and performance insights to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities.

  • Supporting change, transformation and continuous improvement across Collections.

  • Building a team culture focused on performance, accountability, quality and development.

What you bring:

  • Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams.

  • A strong track record in collections performance, in financial services, asset finance or a similar environment is ideal.

  • Confidence managing performance, giving feedback and lifting team capability.

  • Strong communication, coaching and stakeholder management skills.

  • The ability to use data and insights to make sound decisions and improve outcomes.

  • Experience supporting change, growth, transformation or process improvement.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage escalations calmly and commercially.

  • Adaptability in a fast-paced, agile and performance-focused environment.

  • A practical, hands-on leadership style with high standards and strong follow-through.
