Position Summary:
Leads by example within a team of manufacturing operators and co-ordinates activities of a world class manufacturing operation. Ensures the delivery of manufacturing schedules, whilst adhering to highest quality standards in accordance to ISO 13485, ISO 18385 and ISO9001 to ensure customer expectations are maintained or exceeded whilst championing colleague development and a safe working environment to support employee health and wellbeing, acting with due diligence for site safety procedures and COSSH assessments.
Responsibilities:
- Leads by example, as part of a team of manufacturing operators, advising on ideas for managing performance, and supporting personal development.
- Reviews schedule and workload to determine output requirements so that department operations can be planned effectively.
- Resolves operational problems to minimise delays and escalates issues to relevant stakeholders.
- Collaborating closely with Engineering to report & resolve breakdowns to minimise production downtime.
- Promotes PPI across the team and site by embracing lean principles and utilising the tools available.
- Supports new product transfers into the manufacturing site and ensures all personnel are trained in accordance with requirements.
- Onboarding new operators and championing the colleague experience.
- Develop and maintain training plans for the team with a view to signing off proficiency and competency on SFLMS.
- Raising and managing of PRs in Trackwise and leading/supporting investigations when problems arise. Leads and supports investigations related to non-conformance to prevent customer impact.
- Creation and updating of SOPs and procedures in OCPLM to improve processes and support NPIs and projects.
- Responsible for supporting and complying with safety standards and hazardous waste management program including following safe hazardous waste handling and good housekeeping. Ensures and maintains clean, orderly, and safe manufacturing areas.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- Experience and familiarity of working within a manufacturing environment.
- Able to manage workload independently within scope of activities and manage multiple priorities.
- Experience of scheduling and liaising with planning department.
- Experience problem solving, removing barriers, and collaborating with cross functional teams.
- Excellent time management & interpersonal skills.
- Experience of safety standards and waste management.
