Team Manager-Quality
In this position...
The Quality Team Manager role will lead a team of engineers and analysts and supervisors to drive Best in World quality processes and standards. This position directly manages Incoming Quality functions, warranty analysis, internal auditors and measurement labs.
What you'll do...
- Champion the Quality Operating System (QOS)
- Member of the Plant Operating Committee and keep OCM informed of status on Quality issues.
- Develop and Mentor plant personnel on the QOS, coach and train on the appropriate use of standard Quality Tools
- Champion and Deliver the plant Policy Deployment Process for Quality.
- Manage inspection processes and coordinate on-going review / update of the measurement systems and mandatory process requirements based on customer feedback (GQRS / Warranty).
- Coordinate and lead the daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly Quality cadence for the plant (Daily Quality Reviews, VRT Report Outs, VQR’s, PDQR, AQM and SAR reviews)
- Manage department direct and indirect manning
- Develop and maintain an effective Quality communication process to support VRT's management and support customer plants
- Assure Government Regulations, Safety, and Inspection Audits and critical function system reviews are conducted and reported to prevent campaigns.
- Lead the Incoming Quality team and activity, and the QR2 System utilization.
- Support VRT's with supplier quality concerns and IQ support for weekly meeting
- Push known supplier quality issue upstream to next model planner to prevent recurrence of known customer concerns
- Assure process to monitor quality level of supplier parts
- Coordinate real time supplier quality concern feedback to production departments
- Coordinate supplier quality requirements for On-Site Modifications
- Coordinate IQ concerns found in V.O. plants
- Coordinate and co-chair monthly incoming Quality Meetings
- Manage the Gauge and Layout and Contamination labs
- Provide IQ support to contain suspect component concerns until certified stock arrives
- Coordinate all processing of defective materials with plant MP&L organization
- Work with plant personnel to initiate appropriate containment and corrective action while supplier does the same
- Oversee the review of supplier 8D's and the acceptance or rejection based on content
- Publish Incoming Quality data
- Provide feedback, to appropriate departments, concerns identified by dealers and customers related to supplier quality
- Provide weekly update on delinquent suppliers to Purchasing, STA, and plant management
- Manage the reimbursement of plant expenses due to supplier quality concerns
- Manage stability of the base QOS during periods of launch and change.
- Manage the results of the Campaign Prevention process and ensure containments are in place for issues identified.
You'll have...
- Education: High School Diploma
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proven understanding and application of Lean principles and practices in a production environment
- Expertise in Lean and Six Sigma tools and methodologies
- Understanding of the Ford Quality Operating System (QOS)
- Strong analytics and data management skills
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and multi-task in fast-paced environment
Ability to work collaboratively across all employee levels

- Education: Bachelor’s Degree – Engineering discipline or strong manufacturing experience preferred
- Certifications: Master Black Belt Certified, or ability to obtain certification within 3 months, Lean Certificate and Formal Training
- Experience:
- 5+ years of related experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong statistical analysis skillset
- Deep understanding of the Ford Quality Operating System (QOS) and related methods
- Experience leading teams

This position is leadership level 6 and ranges from $112,680-$212,760.
