Tech Lead (Python)
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Tech Lead (Python) based in Brazil.
You will join a high-performing engineering environment working closely with a Berlin-based product team focused on delivering advanced business intelligence solutions for the automotive industry. In this role, you will take ownership of technical direction, helping shape scalable data-driven products that transform complex datasets into actionable insights. You will not only contribute hands-on as a senior Python engineer but also play a key leadership role in guiding architecture, improving engineering standards, and elevating overall team performance. You will work on challenging problems involving data pipelines, APIs, and web scraping, while influencing both technical strategy and engineering culture. Accountabilities:
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable, high-quality Python-based applications and services.
- Define and promote engineering best practices, coding standards, and architectural principles across the team.
- Design system architecture, select appropriate technologies, and contribute to technical roadmaps and planning.
- Develop and maintain REST APIs and data-driven backend services supporting analytics products.
- Oversee code reviews and ensure high standards of quality, performance, and maintainability.
- Mentor and support engineers, fostering both technical growth and professional development.
- Contribute to web scraping solutions and data extraction pipelines using Python.
- Collaborate on improving company-wide engineering processes to increase efficiency and product quality.
- Strong professional experience in Python development, including scalable backend systems.
- Proven experience in technical leadership or leading successful engineering projects.
- Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), Git, and software design principles.
- Experience in system design, architecture planning, and requirements gathering.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and organizational skills.
- Ability to mentor engineers and contribute to team development and performance.
- Proficiency in English for international collaboration.
- Experience with REST APIs and backend development in production environments.
- Bonus: experience with web scraping frameworks, RabbitMQ, SQL or NoSQL databases, Docker, Kubernetes, agile methodologies, or open-source contributions.
