As our Technical Lead (Structural Integrity), you'll provide technical leadership for projects supporting the long-term operation of Sizewell B Power Station through to 2055 and beyond. You'll play a key role in delivering safe, innovative solutions that support EDF's journey towards An Electric Britain while influencing major investment decisions and engineering strategies.

This is a flexible hybrid role with a preferred base in #Gloucester, although candidates can work out of #SizewellB if preferred but you'll travel more frequently to #Gloucester to support collaboration across the wider programme team.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Providing technical leadership across Structural Integrity projects that support Sizewell B's long-term operation programme
  • Leading multidisciplinary teams and coordinating technical activities across internal and external stakeholders
  • Overseeing engineering solutions from concept development through to safety case justification, commissioning and implementation
  • Managing technical risks, resolving complex engineering challenges and supporting informed decision-making
  • Working closely with programme, engineering and regulatory stakeholders to ensure safe, compliant and effective delivery

Who You Are

We're looking for a Technical Lead (Structural Integrity) who combines strong technical expertise with the ability to lead complex engineering delivery. You'll be collaborative, decisive and focused on achieving high-quality outcomes. Are you experienced in...?

  • Delivering complex Structural Integrity engineering programmes within formal governance and assurance frameworks
  • Applying Structural Integrity design codes, assessment methodologies and construction code requirements within highly regulated environments
  • Working with UK nuclear regulatory requirements, including knowledge of Incredibility of Failure principles
  • Developing and integrating engineering solutions with nuclear safety cases
  • Leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and managing technical delivery through effective delegation
  • Working with supply chain partners including technical specification development, supplier management and quality oversight
  • Holding Chartered Engineer, Chartered Scientist or Chartered Mathematician status, or being actively working towards chartership
  • Holding a degree in Engineering or a related scientific discipline

To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Vetting, which will, ordinarily, require you to have been a resident of the UK for at least three of the past five years.

Pay, Benefits and Culture

We are offering a starting salary of between £83,802 and £115,263, with terms and conditions covered by the EDF Nuclear Generation Company Agreement. The starting salary for the appointment will be dependent on your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications.
