Technical Manager / Assistant Technical Manager

Job Summary

Lead technical operations for LNG bunkering vessels and trucking business, ensuring compliance with marine regulations and supporting safe, efficient LNG bunkering services in Singapore.

Responsibilities

  • Support technical matters for vessel and trucking LNG bunkering business to ensure operational readiness and safety.
  • Review and provide detailed comments on drawings, plans, and documents during FUELNG's LNG bunker vessel construction to ensure timely delivery and operational compliance.
  • Manage third-party supervisors and liaise with shipbuilders and ship owners to coordinate vessel readiness for Singapore operations.
  • Conduct LNG bunker vessel compatibility studies with customers and prepare technical procedures and operational walkthroughs to enhance safety and efficiency.
  • Prepare and coordinate Joint Plan of Bunkering Operations (JPBO) documents with all stakeholders to ensure smooth bunkering activities.
  • Assist FUELNG General Manager in technical discussions with new customers to support business development.
  • Review and update technical and operational procedures to maintain high standards and compliance.
  • Support ISO 9001, ISO 45001, BizSafe, and other audits to maintain industry certifications and operational excellence.
  • Represent FueLNG in the Singapore market by engaging with regulatory bodies and supporting the development of industry standards and regulations.
  • Maintain strong relationships with the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore to ensure compliance with LNG bunker licensing requirements.
  • Support training programs for new personnel and contractors to uphold LNG operational safety and standards.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management to support company objectives.

Required competencies and certifications

  • Technical and Engineering mindset.
  • Good knowledge of vessel operations and abilityto find technical solutions.
  • Good stakeholder engagement/communicationskills, externally & internally.
  • Well-versed in marine regulations and statutory instruments for bunkering in Singapore Port and OPL Waters.

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Graduate degree in Maritime Business and Operations, Nautical Studies, Marine, Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering; Master’s degree preferred
  • 10 years of progressive experience, preferably at least 5 years of experience in shipbuilding or technical operations of vessels.
  • Practical knowledge of mechanical equipment, heat transfer, cryogenic equipment, centrifugal and reciprocating pumps, and LNG handling and storage
  • Experience in Oil, LNG/Gas, and Petrochemical industries
  • Proficient computer knowledge and skills
  • Fluent written and verbal English; fluency in other languages is an advantage
