Technical Manager, Maintenance and Repair

Faststream Recruitment is partnering with a global container leasing company who is looking for a Technical M&R Manager to be based in Singapore.

Responsibilities

• Manage regional repair vendors and depots.
• Establish and maintain repair cost tariffs to validate off-hire estimates.
• Monitor depot repair costs, quality, and off-hire processes.
• Handle customer off-hire disputes and secure damage repair approvals.
• Manage owner repair approvals and resolve technical/M&R issues.
• Conduct depot audits covering repairs, estimates, facilities, and quality control.
• Monitor M&R activities and reports through EDI, internal systems, and manual reporting.
• Provide M&R and technical training to staff and appointed depots.
• Oversee off-hire surveys and surveyors representing company interests.
• Maintain strong customer relationships, including during dispute resolution.
• Manage EDI processes, troubleshoot transmission issues, and improve depot capabilities.
• Perform additional Operations and M&R duties as required.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
• Proven experience in the shipping industry, with strong knowledge of equipment operations and container leasing processes.
• IICL Inspector certification is preferred.
• Hands-on experience conducting depot audits and delivering depot training programs.
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently.
• Fluent in spoken and written English and Chinese.
• Strong presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
