Job Description:

We are seeking an innovative and forward-thinking Technical Product Manager to join our Data and Analytics Engineering team as the vital bridge between our business goals and technical execution for a dedicated product area. This is an incredibly exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of emerging technologies; you will play a key role in integrating AI capabilities into our systems, shaping the future of how we deliver cutting-edge property intelligence.

You are a collaborative, detail-oriented professional with a solid foundation in software development and a passion for agile methodologies. With several years of experience in a product-focused role, such as a Product Owner or Business Analyst, you will manage a product backlog, ensure your team has complete clarity to succeed, and serve as the voice of the customer to deliver high-quality, working software. You will thrive in an innovative, fast-paced environment where continuous improvement and technical integrity are paramount.

We value work-life balance and flexibility, and we are open to considering candidates who prefer to work a 4-day work week for this position. If you are a curious problem-solver looking to drive results and champion AI-driven solutions, we want to hear from you.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Developing and maintaining a healthy, prioritised team backlog by breaking down features into clear, actionable user stories.
  • Actively participating in all Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
  • Providing the technical detail and acceptance criteria necessary for the data engineering team to estimate, sequence, and execute work effectively.
  • Working closely with Business Product Managers to ensure technical execution aligns with the overall product vision.
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for "accepting" completed stories and ensuring they meet the team's definition of done.
  • Assisting in the delivery of data pipelines and products by balancing technical debt with immediate client value.
  • Identifying opportunities to streamline workflows, improve team velocity, and resolve technical blockers in real-time.

Job Qualifications:

What You Will Bring:

Essential:

  • A solid foundation in data engineering concepts and a strong technical background.
  • An open mindset toward emerging technologies and an understanding of the AI Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • 4-5 years of experience working within a data product or data engineering team, specifically in roles such as Product Owner, Business Analyst, or Technical Lead.
  • Proven experience working effectively with agile development teams and a strong understanding of agile ceremonies and methodologies.
  • Experience defining, documenting, and prioritising product features and technical user stories.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate business needs into clear technical terms for engineers and influence team-level decisions.
  • A proven ability to self-manage, drive results, and effectively manage time to meet sprint objectives.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience thriving in a paired-programming and test-driven development (TDD) environment.
  • A strong alignment with a "retrospective" mindset, continuously looking for ways to improve both products and processes.
