Technical Product Manager

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Technical Product Manager based in India.

This role focuses on shaping and delivering impactful software products that support critical public services used by millions of citizens worldwide. You will work at the intersection of product strategy and technical execution, translating complex business needs into clear, actionable requirements for engineering teams. The position requires close collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure product solutions are scalable, reliable, and aligned with long-term roadmap objectives. You will play a key role in backlog management, user story definition, and sprint-level execution within Agile environments. Beyond delivery, you will contribute to technical decision-making and help ensure that products meet high standards of performance and usability. This is a mission-driven role where your work directly contributes to improving public sector services and citizen outcomes.

Accountabilities:

  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams to translate product requirements into detailed technical user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
  • Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring priorities are aligned with roadmap goals and business needs.
  • Guide sprint execution by participating in Agile ceremonies including planning, stand-ups, grooming, and retrospectives.
  • Work with technical teams to ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with architectural standards.
  • Identify risks, dependencies, and delivery challenges early, and support mitigation strategies to ensure smooth execution.
  • Support product decision-making through data analysis, metrics evaluation, and performance monitoring.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, design, and customer-facing functions to ensure successful delivery.
  • Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing across product and engineering teams.
  • Requirements:

    • Proven experience as a Technical Product Manager in a software or product-led organization.
    • Strong ability to write and manage detailed user stories with clear acceptance criteria in Agile environments.
    • Solid understanding of software engineering concepts such as system design, scalability, APIs, and architecture principles.
    • Ability to participate in technical discussions with engineering teams, including design and architecture considerations.
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and inform product decisions.
    • Experience working in cross-functional Agile teams using frameworks such as Scrum or Kanban.
    • Strong problem-solving, prioritization, and stakeholder management skills.
    • Ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements, priorities, and business needs.
