Technical Recruiter

Hermeus is a venture-backed defense aviation company reclaiming the lost art of rapid iterative prototyping to build the fastest aircraft in the world today. By prioritizing relentless hardware iteration, we deliver high-speed systems at the pace of the modern battlefield. We work with the Department of War to provide the high-speed capabilities our nation and its allies need to maintain a durable, asymmetric advantage.

This is a 6-month contract opportunity with the potential to convert to a full-time position. The Talent Acquisition team plays a critical role in identifying and hiring the exceptional talent that drives Hermeus' mission and growth.

Recruiting at Hermeus means partnering on technically complex, high-impact searches in a fast-paced environment where hiring quality and speed matter. You'll work closely with leadership, influence talent strategy, and help scale the teams shaping the future of aerospace.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Hiring Managers and business leaders to lead intake and kickoff meetings, define hiring requirements, align on headcount needs, and provide strategic guidance throughout the end-to-end recruiting process.

  • Develop and execute proactive, long-term talent acquisition strategies to build and maintain robust pipelines for both immediate hiring needs and future organizational growth.

  • Identify, source, and engage top-tier talent through innovative sourcing methodologies, recognizing that the strongest candidates are often not actively seeking new opportunities.

  • Leverage employee referrals, industry networks, market intelligence, emerging technologies, external search partners, and professional events to strengthen employer brand awareness and cultivate diverse talent pipelines.

  • Conduct comprehensive candidate assessments while effectively communicating the Hermeus mission, culture, growth trajectory, and total rewards philosophy to attract and engage exceptional talent.

  • Manage and coordinate all stages of the interview process, ensuring a seamless, high-touch candidate experience from initial outreach through offer acceptance.

  • Maintain accurate and compliant candidate records, pipeline data, and recruiting metrics within Lever and other talent acquisition systems.

  • Foster a collaborative team environment by supporting recruiting initiatives across the organization and contributing to the continued growth and success of Hermeus as an industry leader.

  • Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.

  • 4+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience supporting highly technical roles within fast-paced, high-growth organizations.

  • Prior recruiting experience within the aerospace, defense, space, or other advanced technology industries is strongly preferred.

  • Deep understanding of the competitive talent landscape across aerospace, defense, and adjacent engineering sectors, with the ability to leverage market intelligence to influence hiring strategies and talent acquisition outcomes.

  • Demonstrated expertise utilizing a broad range of sourcing tools, research methodologies, and innovative talent attraction strategies beyond traditional platforms to identify and engage top technical talent.

  • Experience leveraging Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), preferably Lever, to effectively manage candidate pipelines, maintain data integrity, and drive recruiting efficiency.

  • Proven ability to attract, assess, and hire world-class engineering talent while delivering an exceptional, high-touch candidate experience throughout the recruiting lifecycle.

  • Strong relationship-building and influencing skills, with a demonstrated ability to engage, nurture, and convert highly passive candidates in competitive talent markets.

  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and consultative partnership skills, with the ability to influence hiring decisions and build credibility with leaders at all levels of the organization.

  • The salary range listed for this role is intended as a general guideline. Final compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including role scope and responsibilities, relevant experience, education and training, key skills, market data, and business needs.

At Hermeus, compensation is only one part of our total rewards package. We offer competitive pay, equity, and a range of benefits designed to support our team.
