Technical Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineer with a strong background in telecommunications networking. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in data plane software development for PHY, PCS, MAC layers, transceivers, and IEEE 802.3 standards, coupled with robust C/C++ programming skills. This role is crucial for developing and optimizing high-performance carrier-grade hardware products.

NIFN2026

  • Develop and optimize data plane software for high-performance, carrier-grade networking hardware, focusing on PHY, PCS, MAC, and transceiver layers that comply with IEEE 802.3 standards.

  • Design, implement, and maintain low-level drivers and HALs for ASICs and optical transceivers, working closely with Broadcom, Marvell, and in-house chipsets.

  • Analyze and troubleshoot packet forwarding paths to diagnose complex Layer 1 and Layer 2 networking issues, ensuring optimal throughput and reliability.

  • Collaborate with hardware and system teams to derive software requirements from schematics, datasheets, and hardware documentation, validating designs through lab testing.

  • Debug, profile, and optimize embedded software running on RTOS environments (e.g., VxWorks), ensuring performance, stability, and carrier-grade quality.

You Have:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. 4+ years of relevant experience in embedded or networking software development.

  • Proficiency in C, C++, and Assembly programming.

  • Experience with RTOS concepts and VxWorks development.

  • Experience working with Broadcom, Marvell, or custom ASIC chipsets. Strong background in HAL development for ASICs and transceivers.

  • Familiarity with SFF, MSA, and CMIS 5.2 specifications for optical modules.

  • Solid understanding of SerDes fundamentals (FFE, DFE, insertion loss, signal integrity).

  • Good experience with Layer 1 and Layer 2 networking protocols.

  • Deep knowledge of IEEE 802.3 Ethernet standards (PHY, PCS, MAC).

  • Hands-on experience with packet forwarding analysis and troubleshooting.

It would be nice if you also have:

  • Direct hands-on experience with Broadcom and/or Marvell SDKs and chipsets.

  • Proficiency with protocol analyzers and debugging tools (e.g., Wireshark).

  • Experience with hardware simulation or emulation environments.

  • Familiarity with QEMU, automated test frameworks, and lab validation setups.

  • Exposure to large-scale system integration and field issue debugging in telecom environments.
