Technology Environment Manager - POS & Test Labs - 24 Month FTC

  • Own and drive the Point of Sale (PoS) Lab strategy and roadmap, ensuring test environments evolve in line with current and future global store technology requirements.
  • Lead the transformation of PoS testing capabilities, driving the adoption of virtualised, cloud-enabled, and Environment-as-a-Service (EaaS) solutions to improve speed, scalability, and self-service.
  • Manage and optimise PoS lab operations across the UK & Ireland, ensuring high availability, production-like environments, effective scheduling, and seamless support for development, QA, and release activities.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the PoS Lab Engineer, providing technical leadership, mentoring, and fostering continuous improvement across people, processes, and technology.
  • Champion automation, governance, and operational excellence, ensuring secure, compliant, production-aligned environments while improving efficiency through automation and standardisation.
  • Drive continuous innovation and performance, introducing emerging PoS technologies, enhancing lab capabilities, and using utilisation and performance metrics to deliver measurable business value.
  • Proven experience managing complex technology environments, ideally within retail, store technology, or Point of Sale (PoS) ecosystems.
  • Strong knowledge of PoS systems, store hardware, and multi-market environment management, with experience maintaining production-like test environments.
  • Hands-on experience with virtualisation, cloud technologies, and Environment as a Service (EaaS), with a passion for driving automation and modern testing capabilities.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, stakeholders, and concurrent delivery schedules.
  • People leadership experience (or the ambition and capability to step into a leadership role), with a collaborative approach to coaching, mentoring, and developing others.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with a proactive mindset, a focus on continuous improvement, and the ability to translate technical challenges into clear business outcomes.
