Technology Foundations Platform Delivery Lead
Working with the AA | Me mahi tahi tatou ki AA
For over 120 years the AA have been helping Kiwis on their adventures! Today, we're one of New Zealand's most respected and trusted brands. From our humble beginnings as a motoring enthusiast's club, the New Zealand AA (Automobile Association) has grown into a large, dynamic organisation offering many services and products to more than a million Members.
And now, we’re building the organisation of the future – more connected, modern, and purpose-driven. We are a business in transformation, with opportunities to work cross-functionally, grow new skills, and make a meaningful impact. We’re investing in our people, platforms, and ways of working to stay ahead of what our Members and customers need.
We’re excited to open an opportunity for a Technology Foundations Platform Delivery Lead, offering a chance to play a key role in shaping how we plan, prioritise, and deliver critical platform initiatives across the AA.
This is a great opportunity to step into a high-impact position, working at the heart of our technology function to enable faster, safer, and more predictable delivery while strengthening collaboration across teams and driving real value for our organisation and members.
What You'll Be Doing | Mō te Tūranga
You’ll take ownership of the end-to-end planning, prioritisation, and delivery of critical platform and infrastructure initiatives. In this role, you’ll act as the central gateway into the platform, translating strategic priorities into a clear, executable backlog while balancing demand, capacity, risk, and value to ensure work is delivered predictably, safely, and to a high standard. You’ll lead delivery across multiple workstreams using agile practices, proactively managing dependencies, risks, and stakeholder expectations, while coordinating closely with architecture, security, operations, and vendors to ensure seamless execution and operational readiness. With a strong focus on transparency, flow of work, and continuous improvement, you’ll enable teams to move faster with confidence, foster a delivery-first culture, and ensure outcomes align with organisational goals and governance expectations.
About You | Mōu
You’re a confident and experienced delivery professional who brings strong leadership across technology and platform environments, with the ability to translate priorities into clear, achievable outcomes through effective backlog and flow management. You’ll be skilled in applying agile and adaptive delivery practices in complex infrastructure settings, balancing value, risk, and capacity while coordinating seamlessly across value streams, platforms, architecture, security, and vendor partners. With a solid understanding of cloud, on-prem, network, and integration landscapes, you’ll bring credibility when working with technical teams and be comfortable “speaking engineer”—translating between business and technical audiences to ensure shared understanding and practical outcomes. You’ll ensure delivery is both viable and aligned to governance, security, and operational readiness expectations. Your strength in stakeholder engagement, communication, and navigating competing priorities will enable you to provide clarity, manage dependencies, and build confidence at all levels, while your commitment to continuous improvement will help lift delivery maturity, transparency, and performance across the platform. Backed by relevant delivery or agile qualifications, and a strong foundation in technology delivery within complex environments, you’ll thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative setting where outcomes and impact matter.
