Telecommunications Technical Officer

Due to ongoing growth in infrastructure rollout projects,\nRockford Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Telecommunications Technical\nOfficer.
<\/p>

Responsibilities:<\/b>
<\/p>

The successful candidate will be responsible for the\ninstallation, upgrade, commissioning, integration, and testing of 4G and 5G\nbase station equipment across multiple vendor platforms. This includes\nmicrowave transmission gear and network termination units (NTUs) for various\ncarriers. The role involves on\-site support during outages, assisting riggers\nwith installation and termination of hybrid trunk cables and coaxial\nfeeders/tails, and performing testing such as sweeps, PIM, and fibre testing.\nThe position also requires accurate collection and submission of handover\ndocumentation in line with client specifications.

Main tasks for the role<\/b>
<\/p>

• Install,\n test, maintain, and repair telecommunications equipment and infrastructure
  <\/li>
• Perform\n upgrades and commissioning of BTS and microwave systems
  <\/li>
• Liaise\n with rigging teams to coordinate physical installation schedules
  <\/li>
• Conduct\n signal testing and diagnostic assessments
  <\/li>
• Compile\n and submit handover documentation and reports to project stakeholders
  <\/li>
• Ensure\n compliance with safety and quality standards on\-site
  <\/li><\/ul>

  Skills<\/b>
  <\/p>

  • Experience\n with Ericsson and Nokia telecommunications equipment
    <\/li>
  • Strong\n understanding of 4G/5G and microwave transmission systems
    <\/li>
  • Proficiency\n in fibre, coaxial, and hybrid cable testing (including PIM, DTF, sweep,\n OTDR)
    <\/li>
  • Ability\n to read and interpret technical plans and site drawings
    <\/li>
  • Strong\n troubleshooting and problem\-solving skills
    <\/li>
  • Good\n written documentation and reporting skills
    <\/li><\/ul>

    Qualifications and experience<\/b>
    <\/p>

    Candidates should have a relevant diploma or certificate in\ntelecommunications or electronic engineering. A minimum of 3 years\u2019 experience\nin mobile network infrastructure installation, particularly with BTS and\ntransmission systems, is essential. Experience with carrier\-specific rollout\nprocedures will be highly regarded.
