The Testing Center Technician oversees reception, intake, test administration, security implementation and record-keeping for students and community members taking exams and tests administered at SFCC Testing Center. Maintains software and workstations. Duties & Responsibilities
Conducts examinee intake and administers computer-based tests, managing access passwords, printing results, generating reports, ensuring student accommodation requests, and troubleshooting technical problems while maintaining security.
Serves as a point of contact of staff, faculty, and other institutions to ensure that all exam scheduling requests and testing processes are conducted efficiently for their students.
Partners with Department staff and faculty to help students navigate their testing requirements and processes.
Maintains detailed testing records and oversees the secure storage of all test materials at the Testing Center.
Contributes to supervision and training of student Testing Center employees.
Assists the testing team to maintain and troubleshoot all software on workstations.
Solves scheduling and student problems to ensure a smooth experience for test takers.
Answers telephone and greets’ visitors to provide accurate general and test-specific information and assistance.
Knowledge Skills, & Abilities
Skills in test score interpretation and one-to-one communication with students and community members.
Skill in use and trouble-shooting for current testing software.
Ability to stay calm when dealing with anxious testers.
Ability to be efficient and focused in a fast-paced multi-faceted testing environment.
Ability to manage multiple reception proctoring and clerical responsibilities seamlessly.
Ability to provide quality customer service.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Graduation or GED.
1 year of job-related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with current testing software, such as PearsonVue and Praxis.
Bilingual (Spanish/English).
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
Sitting for extended periods of time.
Repetitive hand motions and prolonged use of computer.
May be required to lift up to 20 pounds.
Work is normally performed in a typical interior/ office work environment.
Schedule Designation:
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
This role will be required to work onsite in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
