Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Therapist Intern to join our team and gain valuable clinical experience in a professional counseling setting. This internship provides hands-on experience working with clients under the supervision of licensed therapists. Interns will have the opportunity to develop their clinical skills, participate in case consultations, and gain exposure to various therapeutic modalities.

The location of this internship may vary depending on the needs of the agency, and interns may be assigned to different Aspen Ridge Counseling locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct individual, couples, and/or family therapy sessions.
  • Develop treatment plans and progress notes.
  • Observe and participate in case consultations with licensed therapists.
  • Maintain appropriate and ethical documentation in compliance with agency and legal standards.
  • Attend supervision meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Collaborate with other professionals to support client care and treatment goals.
  • Adhere to confidentiality, HIPAA regulations, and professional ethical guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Master’s or Doctoral program in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, or a related field.
  • Eligible for an internship placement as part of an academic program.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Commitment to ethical and professional standards of practice.
  • Ability to work with diverse client populations.
  • Previous experience in mental health or counseling settings is a plus but not required.
  • Proficiency in other languages is a plus but not required.
