  • Are you a psychologist, psychotherapist or counsellor with ACC Sensitive Claims Services registration and experience?
  • Would you like to be part of a large award winning, supportive and a multi-disciplinary team with a strong team culture?
  • Do you enjoy making a difference in people’s lives and would like variety?

The service:

Kia Korowai, which means “to cloak”, is our newly established ACC Sensitive Claims therapy service. The Korowai covers and protects kiritaki with honour, warmth and mana – physically and spiritually. The Kia Korowai service will provide ACC Sensitive Claims Services to kiritaki registered with Tāmaki Health (Local Doctors, White Cross, and partner clinics).

The role:

In this role, you will work with kiritaki and their whānau who have experienced sexual harm, providing compassionate, culturally sensitive, and tailored support through ACC Sensitive Claims therapy.

We are seeking qualified and experienced psychologists, psychotherapists, and counsellors with ACC Sensitive Claims Services registration to join our dedicated Kia Korowai therapy team as Named Service Providers.

The role includes internal supervision, weekly peer reviews, and professional development opportunities.

You will be based at one of our Auckland locations, including Wellness Support Team hubs and Local Doctors clinics, with options for hybrid work and telehealth to ensure access for kiritaki unable to travel.

Ideally, candidates will be available 2–3 days per week, particularly in Māngere, Pukekohe, Manurewa, or Ōtara.

We are a unique supplier, as candidates will be employed rather than contracted, and we welcome applications from recently approved service providers or those with provisional ACC registration. Multiple positions are available across Auckland.

You will have:

  • ACC Sensitive Claims Services registration.
  • Registration with a professional body under the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act (HPCA) or full membership in a professional association.
  • Postgraduate qualification enabling therapeutic work with kiritaki.
  • Experience with tamariki and rangatahi is highly advantageous.

Benefits:

  • Work with a diverse, multi-disciplinary team supported by a consultant psychiatrist and experienced ACC Sensitive Claims providers.
  • Weekly peer review meetings.
  • Professional supervision, mentoring, and development opportunities.
  • In-house training focused on cultural safety and equity.
  • Opportunities to innovate and contribute to the growth of the service.
