What you'll be doing

Join CIBC's Chief Administrative Office team and help drive CIBC's digital transformation. The Trade Control group supports CIBC’s businesses by implementing effective governance and control processes for all derivative products. As a Trade Control Co-op, you'll support the team by investigating and resolving trade discrepancies, ensuring accurate records, and providing assistance in specialized areas as needed. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with experienced professionals, develop technical skills, and build a strong foundation in capital markets operations. You'll interact with clients to address issues and learn how to manage complex workflows in a fast-paced environment. Your contributions will help drive operational excellence and support the integrity of our trading activities.

Important information

  • You must be currently enrolled in post-secondary education and returning to full-time studies to be eligible. However, you do not need to be in a registered Co-Op program to be considered for a role.

  • This is an 8 month opportunity.

How you’ll succeed

  • Trade Reconciliation - Assist with reconciling trades in precious metals and equities, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies..

  • Reporting & Records Management: You will assist with daily reporting associated with the Trade Control group as part of the group's overall control framework. In this position, you will need to adopt an organized approach to record-keeping of daily controls to ensure compliance for audit purposes.

  • Continuous Learning - Stay current on industry practices and actively seek opportunities to expand your knowledge and skills.

  • You have technical proficiency. You are comfortable with Excel and Microsoft Office; experience with data analytics and AI is an asset.
