Trainer – Employer Led Training

The Trainer \u2013 Employability Led Training will deliver structured and\ninclusive training programs aimed at enhancing the employability skills of\npersons with disabilities (PwDs). This role involves preparing learners for\nemployment across various industry domains through effective facilitation,\nmentoring, and skill\-building in communication, digital literacy, workplace\nreadiness, and domain\-specific competencies. The trainer will also ensure that\nall teaching methods are adapted to meet the diverse needs of learners with\ndisabilities.<\/span><\/span>

Key Responsibilities:<\/span><\/span><\/b>
<\/p>

  • Deliver employability and domain\-specific\n training sessions to youth with disabilities as per APD\u2019s curriculum.<\/span><\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Facilitate interactive sessions in soft\n skills, digital literacy, workplace behavior, interview preparation, etc.<\/span><\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Customize and adapt training content for\n various disability groups, ensuring accessibility and inclusion.<\/span><\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Conduct regular assessments to monitor learner\n progress and readiness for employment.<\/span><\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Maintain accurate training records,\n attendance, and progress reports.<\/span><\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Support trainees in resume building, interview\n skills, and confidence development.<\/span><\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Liaise with placement teams to align training\n with employer expectations.<\/span><\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Collaborate with parents/caregivers and\n counselors to support the overall development of trainees.<\/span><\/span>
    <\/li>
  • Participate\n in internal training of trainers (ToTs) and ongoing professional\n development.<\/span><\/span>

    • Report directly to the Operations Manager on\n training delivery, learner progress, and challenges within Livelihood\n Programs<\/span><\/span>
      <\/li>
    • Ensure training delivery alignment with\n organizational goals, budget management, and operational protocols for the\n Livelihood Programs.<\/span><\/span>
      <\/li>
    • Ensure\n transparency, ethical conduct, and full compliance with the organization\u2019s\n standards and policies.<\/span><\/span>

      Required Qualifications:<\/span><\/span><\/b>
      <\/p>

      • Bachelor\u2019s or Master\u2019s degree in Education,\n Social Work, Psychology, Special Education, or related field.<\/span><\/span>
        <\/li>
      • Minimum 1\u20134 years of experience in training,\n teaching, or facilitation, preferably with marginalized or special\-needs\n groups.<\/span><\/span>
        <\/li>
      • Understanding of disability inclusion, basic\n sign language, and accessible teaching methods.<\/span><\/span>
        <\/li>
      • Proficiency in Kannada and English (spoken and\n written); additional local languages preferred.<\/span><\/span>
        <\/li>
      • Comfort with digital tools like MS Office,\n Zoom, and learning management platforms.<\/span><\/span>

        Preferred Qualifications (if any):<\/span><\/span><\/b>

        • Certification in Special Education,\n Employability Skills, or Inclusive Education.<\/span><\/span>
          <\/li>
        • Prior experience in NGO or development sector\n projects focused on livelihoods or education.<\/span><\/span>
          <\/li>
        • Exposure\n to skilling programs under CSR or government schemes.<\/span><\/span>

          Working Conditions:<\/span><\/span><\/b>
          <\/p>

          • Based at APD\u2019s training center, with possible\n travel to satellite or outreach locations.<\/span><\/span>

          • Standard work hours with flexibility for\n occasional special sessions or reviews.<\/span><\/span>
            <\/li>
          • Willingness\n to work in a field\-based setting with direct interaction with PwDs.<\/span><\/span>
