The Opportunity
A new opportunity has become available for a Manufacturing Trainer to work as part of our Cochlear Brisbane Manufacturing division, based in Newstead. This role is responsible for developing and delivering training to, as well as conducting skills assessments for, our Production employees.
You'll be working with a fantastic team at Cochlear's Brisbane operations on Helen Street in Newstead
Your responsibilities will include…
Planning, conducting, and reviewing training assessments, determining capability and ability to adhere to documented instructions and process times
Training and assessing the competence of new Production employees during inductions and probationary periods
Regularly assessing the competency of employees by spending time on the production floor with operators
Managing training records and maintaining training skills databases such as MA (Manufacturing Academy) and the CBO Training Matrix
Developing and maintaining appropriate training materials for M&L
Working with Team Leaders to standardise procedures
Providing input into the design of Work Instructions and relevant production documentation to ensure that all documents are accurate and easy for team members to follow
About you:
Ability to communicate effectively, with all levels of staff
Previous experience working in printed circuit board assembly, micro-electronics and/or manufacturing environment
Working knowledge of LEAN systems (highly regarded)
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (highly regarded)

The shift times are:
We are looking for some flexibility around shift times, standard morning shift 6.24 am to 2.30 pm, afternoon shift 2.24pm to 10.30 am or a 10 am to 6 pm shift dependent on business needs.
