Office of Student Financial Assistance:
The Office of Student Financial Assistance, a unit within Student Services and Well-Being, is dedicated to supporting the University of Central Florida’s mission and strategic goals through the effective and efficient delivery of student financial aid. The Office provides UCF students with a comprehensive range of federal, state, institutional, and private financial assistance options designed to promote access, affordability, and degree attainment.
As part of the broader Enrollment Services function, professionals within the Office of Student Financial Assistance play a vital role in supporting student success by facilitating essential processes that include financial aid services, admissions support, registration coordination, and orientation. Their work ensures a seamless and supportive experience for both prospective and current students as they navigate the university system.
Within this framework, the Office of Student Financial Assistance serves a pivotal role in advancing institutional priorities by ensuring regulatory compliance while aligning financial resources with academic success initiatives. Through accurate aid administration, stakeholder collaboration, and adherence to federal and state regulations, the Office directly supports student enrollment, persistence, progression, and timely degree completion.
The Opportunity:
The Office of Student Financial Assistance is seeking a Training Specialist I to lead staff development initiatives and ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional financial aid regulations. This role designs and delivers engaging training programs, develops instructional resources, evaluates training effectiveness, and supports continuous learning and professional development across the organization.
Responsibilities:
Training Program Development & Strategy:
Develop, implement, and continuously improve comprehensive training programs and learning pathways.
Evaluate training outcomes and recommend enhancements based on feedback, performance metrics, and organizational needs.
Research training best practices and emerging learning technologies to enhance program effectiveness.
Training Materials & Content Creation:
Review and update training materials regularly to ensure accuracy, relevance, and compliance with current regulations and procedures.
Partner with subject matter experts to develop technical and process-specific training content.
Training Facilitation:
Facilitate onboarding and orientation programs for new employees.
Provide coaching and guidance to staff and supervisors to support knowledge transfer and performance improvement.
Training Records & Data Management:
Generate reports and training metrics for leadership to support workforce development and compliance initiatives.
Representation & Collaboration:
Collaborate with departmental leaders and subject matter experts to identify training priorities and organizational development opportunities.
Serve as a resource on training and development best practices across the organization.
Continuous Improvement & Quality Assurance:
Assess the effectiveness of training programs through evaluations, surveys, and performance-based measures.
Identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for process improvement to enhance employee development and operational effectiveness.
Recommend and implement improvements to training programs, resources, and delivery methods.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree and 0+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in higher education, preferably within financial aid or student services, with working knowledge of federal Title IV regulations.
Demonstrated experience designing and delivering training programs, including curriculum development, instructional design, and facilitation.
Proficiency in creating engaging training materials using tools such as PowerPoint, video platforms, and knowledge bases (e.g., OneNote, Teams).
Experience analyzing training data and metrics to assess effectiveness and inform continuous improvement efforts.
Strong presentation, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate complex policies into clear, learner-friendly content.
Special Instructions to the Applicants:
The anticipated salary range for this position is $48,722 - $52,413. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.
Final-round candidates will be required to develop and deliver a training presentation as part of the interview process.
