Transport Operations Manager – Warehousing Solution

What You Can Expect:

Commercial perspective

  • Support customer acquisition in all transport related aspects, mainly for distribution service
  • Acquire Best rates from transportation provider
  • Make or buy analysis
  • Monitors Customer Satisfaction and improves the performance on a national level
  • SOP Management & Monitoring Compliance at country level
  • Monitor KPIs for Cross Border and Domestic Transport, according to customer and Rhenus requirements
  • Identify any service failures (assigned accounts), requirements and improvements and bring them forward to the organization at the country level
  • Handle Customer complaints efficiently and satisfactory in accordance to Rhenus standards.
  • Ensure implementation of corrective actions. Monitor and log as part of KPI’s
  • Investigate root cause of any issues/complaints to eliminate future re-occurrences
  • Developing new business propositions by analyzing existing operational capabilities and client relationships (e.g. Cost Saving and/or Investment Programs)
  • Being the first to market with assigned account, quoting markets trends/updates and notifications that will affect the day-to-day operation of the account needs. (Builds relationship/trust)
  • Foresee the big picture of transport business and market situation
  • Review the update customer progress in Sugar

Operational perspective

  • Coordinate with sales and key account management to optimize and purpose transport operation solution to meet customer requirement
  • Set up and revision criteria and standard of Rhenus subcontractor
  • Proactive to improve day-to-day operation to avoid any operational issue that could occur
  • Set up and review standard KPI and operational performance on a monthly basis
  • Decision making and supervise to staff in critical situation
  • Observe operation process to following safety and compliant policy
  • Set up and review new process workflow and operation team for new business
  • Subcontract site visit to see their operational processes and environment to comply with Rhenus’s standard
  • Coordinate with IT team to implement and maintain Rhenus TMS
  • Supervise the Operations team (if any)

Cost and Financial perspective·

  • Set up and review transport cost structure and standard cost
  • Review transport quotation price
  • Supervise transport procurement, terms and conditions of contract and price
  • Set up and revise annual budget for both revenue and expenses
  • Review and analysis of financial reports

Human resource perspective

  • Set up and re-organize Cross Border Transport (CBT) & Domestic Transport (DT) department to be a profitable department
  • Set up and review JDs of the department
  • Evaluate staff performance
  • Review staff salary adjustment

What You Bring:

  • Ability to see the “Big Picture” both from commercial and operational perspectives and propose solutions to support commercial and customer requirements.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Able to understand financial report and budgeting
  • Able to review technical solutions, their commercial impact and risks
  • Commercial understanding and basic contractual understand
  • Strong working knowledge of MS office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
  • Basic understanding in GPS and TMS system.
  • Strong in issue analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Basic knowledge of transport law and regulation
  • Experience in managing team in 3PL logistic
  • Working knowledge of TMS systems is preferred
