THE IMPACT YOU CAN HAVE:

The Transportation Analyst is responsible for supporting our transportation vendors/partners daily to achieve superior on-time delivery performance for our retail stores. In addition, this role will focus on improving processes through analysis, identification, documentation, and implementation. This individual works closely with distribution centers, carriers, and many internal cross-functional partners to troubleshoot pain points and develop innovative solutions to meet business needs.

YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH THESE GOALS BY:

  • Support transportation operations from Ulta Beauty distribution centers to final retail store delivery.
  • Work with logistic providers to monitor and track shipments in transit, providing regular updates.
  • Manage communication between internal parties and logistic providers; identify and resolve shipment exceptions or delays that may arise during transit to meet service requirements and on-time delivery.
  • Gathers data and make recommendations for improvement or root cause analysis on problems/opportunities.
  • Foster and strengthen collaborative relationships with our carriers to ensure a high-level of service.
  • Work collaboratively with Transportation Coordinators at each distribution center.
  • Build and tender load plans to awarded carrier base.
  • Coordinate transportation for special requests, new stores, or expedited situations.
  • Negotiate spot freight rates and dispatch overflow truck shipments.
  • Support weekly/monthly/quarterly carrier scorecards and reviews.
  • Support in the development of SOP's, training, KPI metrics, project work and continuous improvement.
  • Create and maintain outbound shipping schedules. Communicate internally with Ulta Beauty distribution centers, District Managers, and retail stores to implement/adjust shipping schedules.
  • Participate in transportation-related projects, provide feedback for continued system improvement, and support the transportation strategy.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with trucking companies.
  • Achieve targeted individual & team performance and savings initiatives.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

THE ESSENTIALS FOR SUCCESS:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year university or college
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in domestic transportation experience; hands-on experience with E2Open (formerly BluJay) TMS, a plus.
  • Working knowledge of North American transportation industry, best practices, regulations, and terminology. Familiarity with industry operations (i.e., 3PL/4PL, TMS, pool distribution, hub & spoke, multi-stop, milk runs, etc.).
  • Microsoft Office proficiency, advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Initiative-taker with strong aptitude to think critically, solve problems, and drive improvements in a professional and respectful manner.
  • Energetic, disciplined individual who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to work within a team and cross-functionally, building relationships, influence and collaborate with peers.
  • Skillful negotiator with strong ability to influence.
  • Effective communication and people skills and the ability to work with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Detail-oriented collaborator with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Knowledge of ERP and BI tools. Hands-on experience with SAP and Tableau, a plus.
  • Ability to be part of rotational weekend coverage schedule.
  • Ability to support after-hours operations on an as-needed basis.
  • Experience with Project44, a plus.
  • Experience in the retail industry, a plus.

The pay range for this position is $57,300.00 - $75,000.00 / Year with the opportunity for eligible associates to earn additional compensation pursuant to the Company’s bonus plan. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business and organizational needs. Full-time positions are eligible for paid time off, health, dental, vision, life and disability benefits. Part-time positions are eligible for dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
