Overview
Registered Nurse – CCU travel assignment in Kealakekua, Hawaii. Start date July 20, 2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay range $2,515–$2,575. Rotating 12-hour shifts (days or nights) with a 72-hour schedule every two weeks. This position is a travel - temporary assignment in a hospital with a 9-bed ICU, focused on adult critical care with occasional stable pediatric patients.

Responsibilities
- Deliver direct critical care nursing in a 9-bed ICU, maintaining appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios (2:1, with 1:1 as indicated) and providing high-acuity care for adult ICU patients; may handle overflow into med/surg units with higher patient loads (3–4 per nurse) if needed.
- Monitor hemodynamics, ventilator settings, telemetry, and clinical status; administer prescribed medications and therapies; perform routine and emergent procedures within scope of practice.
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary team; participate in rounds, care planning, and family education; ensure precise and timely handoffs at shift change.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record; ensure timely completion of charts, orders, and conformity with unit protocols.
- May float to other departments to assist as needed (not carrying a full team of patients); charge nurse duties may be assigned, with an additional $2.00 per hour.
- Training and references: reference checks will be conducted via email as part of the hiring process; phone references will not be requested.

Requirements
- PALS certification is required; pediatric experience is required.
- Pediatric exposure: occasional stable pediatric patients may be present; unstable pediatrics are transferred to higher levels of care.
- Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts (days or nights) in a high-acuity ICU environment.
- Experience in adult ICU care is required; ability to adapt to fluctuating patient loads and unit needs.
- Must be able to support the unit’s shift coverage patterns and adhere to established safety and quality standards.
