Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care to adult and geriatric medical-surgical patients, including assessment, monitoring, and documentation.
- Administer medications, intravenous therapies, blood products, and manage central lines as assigned; monitor for adverse reactions.
- Operate telemetry equipment, interpret dysrhythmias, respond to alarms, and implement appropriate interventions per protocol.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (physicians, therapists, pharmacists, unit secretaries) to optimize patient outcomes and coordinate discharge planning.
- Maintain charting in Epic, ensure accurate and timely documentation, and uphold patient safety and infection control standards.
- May float within scope to support unit needs and ensure continuity of care; weekend coverage is required.

Requirements
- Active Alaska Registered Nurse license in hand at time of submission; if no license in hand, screening will occur.
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of Med Surg/Telemetry experience.
- Epic charting experience required.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program; ability to practice in the listed unit/setting.
- Vaccinations: Hepatitis B vaccines required (titers not accepted).
- Valid state license (pending licenses not accepted); references required (2).
- Must be willing to work weekends; candidates will be scheduled for 3x12 shifts and may be required to work some holidays.
- Locals: not accepted; candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility.
- Travel compliance: able to provide documentation as requested; return-to-staff policies apply.
