This role is integral to supporting student success in a distance learning environment through academic guidance, student engagement, tutorial facilitation, assessment support, and student wellness initiatives.

Key Responsibilities<\/b>
<\/div>

Successful applicants will be required to:

Facilitate one online tutorial session per month for allocated modules.
<\/div>

<\/div>
Provide academic support and guidance to students.
<\/div>

<\/div>
Mark tutorial activities and provide constructive developmental feedback.
<\/div>

<\/div>
Conduct student wellness check\-ins and identify students who may require additional support.
<\/div>

<\/div>
Respond to student queries within agreed turnaround times.
<\/div>

<\/div>
Monitor student participation and engagement.
<\/div>

<\/div>
Maintain accurate records of tutorial attendance and student interactions.
<\/div>

<\/div>
Collaborate with module coordinators and academic staff to support student success.
<\/div>

<\/div>
Adhere to institutional policies, procedures, and academic standards.

    Minimum Requirements<\/b>
    <\/b><\/div>

    <\/div>
    • A Bachelor of Education Honours (BEd Honours) qualification in a relevant field.

      <\/span><\/li>
    • Experience in teaching, tutoring, facilitation, or academic support within higher education or school environments.

      <\/span><\/li>
    • Strong subject matter knowledge in the relevant discipline.

      <\/span><\/li>
    • Access to a computer and reliable internet connectivity.

      <\/span><\/li>
    • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

      Added Advantage<\/b>

      • Experience in distance or online education.

        <\/span><\/li>
      • Experience facilitating tutorials in higher education.

        <\/span><\/li>
      • Registration with the South African Council for Educators (SACE).

        <\/span><\/li>
      • Postgraduate qualifications beyond BEd Honours.
