JOB PURPOSE

BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

Assess and exploit Track While Scan (TWS) vulnerabilities, develop effective platform specific Counter measures (CM) and communicate any recommendations and rationale effectively to the relevant stakeholders.

Provide the RSAF with support and knowledge transfer such that they acquire the skills to independently and indigenously assess and exploit TWS vulnerabilities, develop effective countermeasures and communicate any recommendations and rationale effectively to the relevant stakeholders.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

The key responsibilities will include, but not limited to the following\:

  • Assess TWS reports and analyse CMs.

  • Design platform specific Coordinated countermeasures (CCM), consisting of electronic counter Measures (ECM), expendables and manoeuvres.

  • Generation of the platform specific Countermeasure Handbook and Countermeasure Tactics Report descriptions and rationale for all countermeasures and their associated tactic.

  • Supporting Operations team when necessary to communicate Tactic & CM rationale with the relevant stakeholders.

  • Trials planning.

  • Processing and analysis of trials and exercise data.

  • Develop and maintain processes and procedures.

  • Reporting for all operational and technical aspects.

  • RSAF Threat Vulnerability Assessment and Countermeasures Development (TVACD) Section Lead.

  • Line manager responsibility for reporting staff, including but not limited (assumes there is a leadership aspect to this role).

  • Day to day team leadership and direction.

  • Team development Personal Development Plans.

  • SHE leadership and leading by example.

  • Day to day team management to maximise utilisation, effectiveness and efficiency of the team for personnel issues.

  • Prime Contractor Management in KSA.

RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION

Essential

  • Relevant Engineering Degree or equivalent.

  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft applications with Windows and Internet search.

  • Experience in Operational Countermeasure development.

  • Proficiency in English language.

  • Demonstrate an existing SCE registration or the ability to attain one.

Desirable

  • Chartered status.

  • Qualified Trainer.
