Why This Role and Why Now?
We help people reclaim their attention from the feeds that are built to take it. The catch: to reach them, we have to meet them where they already are, on TikTok, Reels, and Shorts. So we make scroll-stopping content with intent, content good enough to earn a stop and then point someone back toward their real life. That tension is the heart of this role, not a problem to hide from. Done well, an Opal ad is the rare thing in the feed that helps you put the phone down.
We're scaling paid acquisition hard, and creative is the lever. The more quality creatives we test, the more winners we find, the lower our CACs go, and the more we can spend efficiently. Right now our paid team can only move as fast as our creative pipeline allows. You're here to remove that ceiling, and to do it without losing the plot on why people use Opal in the first place.
This is an operator role. You'll build the UGC creator engine from scratch, run it at high volume, and keep it improving. Elise focuses on concept and strategy, Yunshu focuses on campaign optimization, and you make the volume happen.
You'll be the first dedicated hire for this function, with the autonomy to design how it works.
What You'll Be Doing
Build and run a high-volume creator network. Source, vet, and manage a roster of UGC creators across TikTok, Instagram, and creator marketplaces. Negotiate rates, manage contracts, handle creator admin end to end, and keep testing new platforms to find better sourcing channels.
Orchestrate production at scale. Write sharp briefs tied to specific personas, pain points, and markets (Parents, Sleep and more). Run many creators in parallel without losing quality or momentum, and make sure every deliverable clears our bar before it reaches the paid team.
Close the performance feedback loop. Push real-time creative performance back to creators (what won, what didn't, why), design simple incentives that drive iteration, and feed insights to the team to shape the concept and testing roadmap.
Think across the funnel and into new markets. Understand the path from ad to App Store to install to onboarding to trial to subscription, and propose improvements at every step. When we open a new market, find local creators, adapt formats, and lead the localized test.
Own the budget and the system. Track spend per creator, optimize for cost-per-winning-creative, and build lightweight processes that let you move fast without bureaucracy.
What success looks like in 6 months:
A reliable pipeline producing 50+ creatives per week across personas and angles, feedback loops that lift win-rate over time, creators sourced and onboarded for at least one new market or persona, and a paid team that's never waiting on creative volume to scale.
What You Bring
2+ years working with UGC creators, influencer campaigns, or content production for apps or games
English proficiency with a real feel for the tone and cultural references of social platforms
Self-driven: you don’t need to be micromanaged. You find creators, test platforms, and improve the system yourself
Digital native's instincts: you live on TikTok, Reels, and Shorts, you know a good hook on sight, and you spot trends before they peak
Serious organization paired with people skills: you run 30+ creators in parallel without dropping balls, and you genuinely love working with them
Strategic sense: you understand personas, pain points, and how creative maps to business outcomes
You care about iteration speed and learning velocity, and you're comfortable in ambiguity
You believe in what Opal is for, and you can spot creators who get the mission, not just the format. You hold the tension of making great social content in service of helping people use their phones less
Enough paid social or UA fluency to read performance data and understand CAC, CTR, and hook rate
Experience localizing content for non-US markets
