Roles & responsibilities
We are recruiting for an Assistant Manager (AM) in the Audit team. As an AM in the engagement team, your responsibilities will include
•Be a lead in an audit team to delivery quality deliverables of end to end audit engagements of international KPMG teams and clients.
•Planning an audit engagement and be able to perform pre-planning audit activities, staffing an engagement, plan and perform risk assessments work, work with clients on PBC requirements, work assignments to engagement team members, etc.
•Lead junior and semi experienced audit team members and perform reviews of junior team member’s audit work while also undertaking smaller and medium-sized audit engagements independently or assist in larger assignments reporting to a Manager or Senior Manager.
•Work on complex sections of the financial statements of audit engagements as per country specific statutory requirements and prepare and document accounting workpapers, controls and audit findings.
•Establish strong professional relationships with clients and engagement team members through regular connects and meetings.
•Provide regular updates on work pipeline, discussions with engagement teams on issues/missing information, manage & track the open issues until resolved, etc. while maintaining the data confidentiality and adherence to the risk management policy by the team members.
•Coach and mentor junior team members and act as performance managers to build future leaders.
Mandatory technical & functional skills
••Demonstrates strong leadership in managing audit teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Builds stakeholder trust through clear communication, strategic thinking, and effective people development.
••Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
••IT literacy with sound knowledge and experience of Microsoft software's like Excel/ Word/ PowerPoint
••Experience with working independently on multiple assignments or engagements
•Experience with working independently on audit assignments or engagements
Preferred technical & functional skills
•Leadership skills demonstrating sound judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
•Working experience of IFRS
This role is for you if you have the below
Educational qualifications
•Professional Chartered Accountancy (CA) qualification (e.g. ICAI or ACCA)
Work experience
•3 to 4 years of relevant post qualification experience in a similar role, preferably with a Big 4 firm
•If the candidate is an ICAI affiliate, CA articleship with top or mid -tier accounting firm.
