Underground Mine Technician

We are seeking a motivated underground Mine technician on an 8/6 roster. Reporting to the Alternate Manager Underground, this role is designed to bring practical underground mining experience into the Technical Services team.

Your frontline knowledge will be leveraged to inform, improve and optimise planning and design processes, providing valuable operational insight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of Drill and Blast plans
  • Log and fire production shots using electronic systems (Daveytronics, Digidets, i-kon, etc.)
  • Manage and administer data systems (Magman, Livemine, daily reporting)
  • Conduct underground audits and inspections to ensure compliance with operational standards
  • Carry out primary and secondary ventilation surveys
  • Support various technical projects on an ad hoc basis

About You

  • Experienced underground operator looking to transition into a technical role and potentially pursue an engineering pathway
  • Minimum 3 years underground experience, including:
    • 1 year in production charge-up or
    • 1 year in longhole drilling
  • WA Shotfirer’s Ticket (current or previously held)
  • ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence
  • First Aid Qualification
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to interpret technical documents (mine plans, charge plans, specifications)

Desirable:

  • Bachelor’s degree or TAFE qualification
  • Graduate Diploma in Mining Engineering (or willingness to undertake)
