Universal Technician

Job Description:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Universal Technician position is to perform all services included but not limited to recurring services, initial services, service calls and any other service-related tickets for all departments of service. This includes all residential and commercial services. The day-to-day services will vary and can change throughout the day as needed.

Duties may include:

  • Be flexible in day to day operations. Not limited to one service department within the branch daily

  • Provide customers with respectful, professional, and friendly assistance with their pest control needs.

  • Identify pest problems and identify solutions to those problems

  • Provide timely and effective pest detection, elimination and prevention solutions on a preset daily route

  • Complete the application of fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides and fungicides on a preset daily route

  • Computing basic math problems

  • The use of a variety of hand tools

  • Evaluate and identify conducive conditions and provide detailed reports

  • Establish effective working relationships with a variety of customers, both internal and external

  • Use of handheld computerized equipment to manage service calls and documents

  • Provide customers with general information about our various services

  • Conduct service calls as needed

  • Problem solving and/or complaint resolution

  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Perform services inside attics and crawl spaces as needed

  • Operate and maintain company vehicle in a safe and respectful manner.

  • Take an individual interest in the overall success, well-being, and improvement of Turner Pest Control.

Ideal candidates will:

  • Enjoy working outdoors in varying weather conditions

  • Not have a fear of bugs, snakes, rodents, etc.

  • Be able to withstand long periods of squatting, standing and walking; including the ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl

  • Be able to carry a 50lb pack on their back

  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) which includes an OSHA compliant respirator in some cases.

  • Safe use of portable ladders within the manufacturer's specifications and OSHA regulations

  • Have excellent listening and communication skills

  • Be competent with the use of new technology

  • Be organized and able to manage their own daily route

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers

  • High School diploma or GED required

Required Skills

  • Must be at least 18 years old

  • No experience required, training will be provided

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Ability to work independently, manage route-based work, and provide exceptional customer service.

Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Position Type:
This is a full-time position. Some Saturdays may be required.

Travel:
Local daily travel within the assigned territory.
