Utility Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage utility diversion and protection works for roadwork projects to ensure timely and compliant execution
  • Liaise with LTA, utility agencies (PUB, SP Group, etc.), consultants, and subcontractors to coordinate services and resolve issues efficiently
  • Implement appropriate measures to protect services and utilities during construction activities
  • Supervise and coordinate site work for excavation, ERSS, and TBM tunnelling to maintain safety and quality standards
  • Adopt and enforce safe work procedures to prevent damage to services/utilities, especially during excavation works
  • Review utility drawings, service plans, and method statements to verify accuracy and compliance
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure design coordination with infrastructure requirements
  • Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned to support project needs

Required competencies and certifications

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in utility coordination and diversion works within the construction industry

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Familiarity with LTA specifications, procedures, and submission processes
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Willingness to work a 6-day work week and shifts during critical project phases
  • Availability to be stationed at the project site office
