Utility Porter - Stewards - Steady Extra (Harrah's LV)

Responsible for trash removal from kitchen areas and heavy cleaning functions. Will clean all high areas in the kitchens and outdoor stewarding functions. Provides general assistance to other stewarding employees as needed (and time permitting) in their duties to ensure all food preparation areas are maintained to set standards.

  • Follows all applicable safety precautions.
  • Ensures that all kitchen trash is removed from the area and disposed of properly.
  • Is at all times appropriately groomed and wears the uniform provided.
  • Notifies department management of needed repair work in the kitchen area.
  • Completes all general cleaning functions requiring ladder access.
  • Maintains their assigned kitchen area in accordance with county health department and hotel
  • standards.
  • Ensures that foodservice supplies are properly maintained in accordance with county health
  • department and hotel standards.
  • Take garbage, trash, and recyclables from kitchen areas to disposal sites.
  • Clean kitchen loading/receiving dock with power wash, daily.
  • Complete power washing of equipment, outdoors.
  • Complete sweeping and mopping of kitchen floors.
  • Assist other stewarding employees in their duties with regard to kitchen maintenance as time permits.
  • Obtain kitchen maintenance supplies needed from storage.
  • Assist in the organization of kitchen maintenance supply storage areas.
  • Additional related duties as requested by department management.
  • Work requires a minimum of 6 months- 1 year’s work-related experience.
  • Work requires a neat appearance with good personal hygiene.
  • Ability to work from a standing position and/or walking motion for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift approximately 30 - 35 pounds repeatedly.
  • Ability to perform reaching, stooping, stretching, crouching, and twisting motions repeatedly.
