About the Role<\/span><\/b>
<\/p>

Reporting to the Service\nSupervisor or Service Manager, the Vehicle Painter is responsible for the spray\npainting and surface restoration of access equipment at AWD Australia's\nPrestons, NSW facility. The role involves preparing, priming, and finishing machines\nto company presentation standards prior to dispatch or hire. The successful\ncandidate will work closely with service technicians and yard staff to ensure\nequipment is turned around efficiently and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities<\/span><\/b>
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Clean, sand, remove rust and old coatings, and mask\nequipment surfaces in preparation for painting
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Mix paints to match OEM or company specifications and\napply primers, base coats and finishes using spray guns
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Visually inspect finished surfaces, touch up defects or\nblemishes, and ensure all presentation standards are met prior to dispatch
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Maintain spray booth, spray guns, hoses, filters and\nrelated equipment in clean and operational condition
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Accurately complete job sheets, timesheets, paint usage\nlogs and parts records
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Follow WHS protocols, use appropriate PPE, handle\nsolvents and coatings safely, and manage hazardous material disposal in\naccordance with regulations
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Assist with material handling and the safe loading and\nunloading of machinery, including the use of forklifts or pallet jacks where\nlicensed
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Support daily job scheduling coordination, ensuring\nmachines are ready for technicians and all paperwork is completed promptly
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Maintain a clean, safe and well\-organised workshop\nenvironment in accordance with WHS requirements
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Report job status, delays or issues to the line manager\nand complete any other duties as directed by management

Skills<\/span><\/b>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Proficient in surface preparation, paint mixing, spray\ngun operation, masking and minor panel repair
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Strong attention to detail with a commitment to\ndelivering a high\-quality paint finish
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Thorough understanding of WHS and OHS requirements,\nincluding safe handling of chemicals and hazardous materials
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Ability to work collaboratively with technicians,\nsupervisors and yard staff in a busy service environment
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Basic computer skills for service reporting and job\ntracking
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Capable of receiving direction clearly and reporting\njob progress and status accurately
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Flexible and adaptable to changing work conditions and\ntasks
<\/p>

Experience<\/span><\/b>
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Minimum 1\-2 years hands\-on experience in industrial,\nautomotive or plant/machinery spray painting
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Demonstrated experience with surface preparation,\npriming and finish coating using spray equipment
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Experience working with elevating work platforms\n(scissor lifts, boom lifts, telehandlers) is an advantage
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Familiarity with major EWP brands such as Dieci, Genie,\nJLG, Haulotte or Snorkel is highly desirable
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Prior experience in a workshop or service department\nenvironment preferred
<\/p>

Qualifications<\/span><\/b>
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Certificate III in Automotive Refinishing Technology or\nan equivalent qualification in spray painting or surface preparation (highly\nregarded)
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>High\-Risk Work Licence LF (forklift) desirable
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Elevated Work Platform (EWP) licence desirable
<\/p>

\u2022 <\/span><\/span>Working at Heights licence desirable
<\/p>
