Veterinary Client Service Representative | $19–$25/hour | Full-Time Benefits | Three 12-Hour Shifts | Dartmouth, Nova Scotia
Looking for a Client Service Representative role where you can make a meaningful impact on pets, their families, and your team every day?Maritime Veterinary Emergency + Specialty Centre (MVESC) is seeking a compassionate, organized, and client-focused professional to join our growing Emergency & Specialty hospital in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Opened in May 2024, our 24,000-square-foot facility provides advanced emergency and specialty care for pets throughout the Halifax Regional Municipality in a collaborative, fast-paced environment built for exceptional medicine and outstanding client service.
Compensation
- $19.00–$25.00 per hour, based on experience, skills, and assessment
- Three 12-hour shifts per week
- Weekday shifts: 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 a.m.
- Weekend coverage: Friday 5:00 p.m. – Monday 8:00 a.m.
- Includes a combination of day, evening, and overnight shifts

- Welcome clients and patients with professionalism, empathy, and compassion
- Deliver an exceptional client experience from arrival through discharge
- Answer and manage a multi-line phone system while prioritizing urgent situations
- Provide clients with timely updates regarding patient status and expected wait times
- Prepare treatment estimates and accurately process payments
- Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and medical record documentation
- Maintain accurate client records using the hospital's electronic medical record system
- Support veterinarians and veterinary teams through effective communication and coordination
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming hospital environment
- Perform additional administrative and client service responsibilities as needed
- Previous experience in a veterinary hospital strongly preferred
- Emergency veterinary experience is an asset
- Passion for delivering exceptional customer service in a client-facing role
- Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
- Calm, compassionate, and professional demeanor during high-pressure situations
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced emergency and specialty environment
- Experience using electronic medical record systems is preferred
- Fluent English speaking and reading skills required
