Vice President, Data Governance Tools Specialist - Collibra
Role Overview
The Collibra Specialist is responsible for implementing and operationalizing enterprise data governance using the Collibra Data Intelligence Platform and Collibra Data Quality tools. This role focuses on metadata management, data lineage, and data quality to support regulatory compliance (e.g., BCBS 239) and business objectives. The position works closely with Data Stewards, Data Owners, IT, and business teams to drive effective data governance practices across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Data Governance & Compliance
- Implement and operationalize the enterprise Data Governance Framework aligned with regulatory requirements and business goals.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as BCBS 239 by enabling data lineage, traceability, and data quality controls.
- Enforce data governance policies and ensure adherence across business and technology teams.
Collibra Platform Management
- Configure and manage the Collibra Data Intelligence Platform, including communities, domains, assets, roles, and permissions.
- Maintain and enhance metadata repositories and business glossaries.
- Develop and manage workflows supporting governance processes such as data issue management, stewardship, and approvals.
Metadata, Lineage & Data Quality
- Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end data lineage across systems.
- Define and implement data quality rules and monitoring workflows using Collibra Data Quality tools.
- Align data quality processes with regulatory and internal governance standards.
Integration & Technical Enablement
- Integrate Collibra with enterprise systems such as Azure Data Platform, Vermeg, Moody’s Risk Confidence, and Alteryx.
- Utilize APIs and data pipelines for metadata ingestion and synchronization.
- Apply strong SQL skills for data analysis and validation.
Reporting & Insights
- Develop dashboards and reports within Collibra to track data quality metrics and governance KPIs.
- Provide actionable insights to stakeholders for continuous improvement of data governance practices.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Training
- Collaborate with IT and business units to enable effective adoption of data governance processes.
- Conduct training sessions and provide guidance to Data Stewards and stakeholders on Collibra usage.
Support & Continuous Improvement
- Troubleshoot and resolve platform-related issues.
- Stay updated with Collibra releases and recommend enhancements and upgrades.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in data governance roles.
- At least 3+ years of hands-on experience with Collibra Data Intelligence Platform and Collibra Data Quality.
- Strong understanding of Collibra architecture, data model, and APIs.
- Experience configuring workflows, assets, domains, communities, and data quality rules in Collibra.
- Strong SQL skills for data analysis and manipulation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Collibra certification (mandatory).
- Additional certifications such as CDMP or CIMP.
- Experience in banking or financial services.
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as BCBS 239, IFRS9, and MAS reporting.
- Experience integrating Collibra with data platforms such as Azure Data Lake or similar environments.
