HarbourVest is seeking a Vice President, Portfolio Manager to join our Evergreen Solutions team on a permanent, full-time basis. Guided by a clear and ambitious mission, the Evergreen Solutions Team is enabling HarbourVest to become the leading multi-manager provider of private markets focused evergreen solutions for wealth and institutional investors globally. The Vice President, Portfolio Manager will be an integral part of our Credit Evergreen strategy which will initially consist of two funds (one for US Investors and one for Non-US Investors). They will execute our credit investment strategy, support allocation between credit opportunities, investment monitoring and liquidity management for all Credit Evergreen funds. The selected candidate will work as part of a small, dedicated Credit Evergreen team reporting into a Boston based Managing Director (MD). They will support the MD and a London based Principal in presenting recommendations on the aforementioned funds to our internal Evergreen Portfolio Management Committee (“EPMC”) made up of senior professionals at the firm. The EPMC body is responsible for the decision making on all Evergreen funds, but the committee looks to the senior credit focused professionals for guidance and recommendations. In addition to these specific responsibilities, the individual selected will participate and, over time, potentially lead presentations marketing the fund to new clients in a variety of forms, such as roadshows with distributors and themed conference presentations.

What you will do:
Portfolio Construction
Support portfolio construction for open-ended credit evergreen funds
Support senior team members in allocation and provide input to the EPMC as necessary to build diversified portfolios across private credit opportunities with clear target parameters, sizing, and risk budgeting
Lead discussions around the development and implementation of investment capacity
Attend strategy investment committee meetings to understand asset profiles for open-ended evergreen funds
Liquidity Management and Risk Management
Manage provision of liquidity analysis, subscriptions, redemptions, credit facility sizing/usage, hedging, and portfolio asset sales
Develop and implement portfolio stress testing ensuring appropriate scenario analysis incorporating liquidity, spreads and defaults/recoveries
Understand Credit pricing dynamics and valuation models including in secondary markets with the ability to explain outcomes to internal and external audiences
Fundraising & Client Service
Support fundraising meetings alongside Wealth and IR colleagues targeting existing clients, distribution partners, prospective distributions, and prospective investors. This includes SMA clients
Working with marketing to provide structured market outlook analysis, ensuring consistency with investment strategies
Support with client requests and fundraising inquiries. This includes reviewing answers for accuracy
Regulatory Requirements
Work with Legal, Regulatory and Compliance colleagues to ensure the Credit Evergreen portfolio management team fulfills all board and regulatory reporting for US and European regulators
Wealth Channel Business Development & Planning
Maintain a general awareness of new product roadmap and timelines.
Aid with new product launches (seed asset review, credit facility strategy, liquidity and stress testing, tactical plan development, etc)
Team Building
Develop relationships with the broader Evergreen Fund Management, Evergreen Solutions and Wealth team, providing support to help us scale while providing leverage for the HarbourVest platform.
What you bring:
At least 6 years of private credit investing experience with a track record in designing and implementing targeted portfolio construction in credit portfolios that encompass sub asset classes with varying risk and return profiles
Knowledge of evergreen products and regulations including those with monthly or quarterly redemptions
Sufficient IT capability to interact with colleagues in the design, implementation and improvement of tools designed to improve portfolio management
Top level communications skills with ability to deliver it across mediums
Education Preferred
Bachelor of Arts (B.A), Bachelor of Science (B.S), or equivalent experience required
Masters in Business Administration preferred

Base Salary Range
$175,000.00 - $200,000.00
This USD base salary range represents only one component of total compensation for this role and is provided in accordance with local requirements. This role is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, which is determined based on individual and overall firm performance. In addition to salary and bonus, total compensation may include eligibility for long-term reward programs and a comprehensive total rewards package that may include retirement, health, insurance, paid time off, and wellness programs. Our total rewards offerings are influenced by several business factors, and eligibility for certain components will vary by position and geography. Please note the posted ranges do not apply outside the U.S. and should not be converted to other currencies as a proxy for compensation in other countries.
