The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President of Sales to lead and elevate our sales organization. This executive will define and execute the division’s sales strategy, drive revenue growth, and ensure alignment with business objectives. The VP of Sales will oversee recruiting, development, and performance of the sales team while championing exceptional customer experience and operational excellence.Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Sales Execution
- Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies aligned with division business goals
- Establish and track weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales targets
- Analyze market data, trends, and competitive landscape to drive sales performance
- Partner cross-functionally (e.g., Architecture, Mortgage, Operations) to optimize outcomes
- Provide regular reporting and insights to senior leadership on performance metrics
- Lead initiatives related to pricing strategy, product mix, new community launches, branding, and marketing efforts
- Strengthen broker and realtor outreach programs to maximize sales opportunities
Team Leadership & Performance Management
- Recruit, hire, and retain high-performing sales professionals
- Set clear performance expectations and manage through data-driven scorecards
- Coach, mentor, and develop sales team members and leaders
- Conduct performance reviews, implement development plans, and manage performance improvement processes as needed
- Partner with HR and Compensation to ensure competitive and effective compensation structures
Training & Development
- Identify skill gaps and implement targeted training programs
- Ensure adherence to company sales processes and business model
- Oversee structured training programs, including onboarding and fast-track initiatives
- Lead team meetings to reinforce strategy, share best practices, and celebrate successes
Customer Experience Excellence
- Drive a culture of 100% customer satisfaction
- Monitor and improve Customer Service Index (CSI) performance
- Resolve customer concerns promptly and effectively
- Ensure consistent follow-up with prospects and customers
- Collaborate across departments to enhance the customer journey
Market & Project Leadership
- Conduct ongoing market research and competitor analysis
- Contribute to strategic projects including product design, land planning, and community development
- Support initiatives that drive innovation and increase overall sales performance
What You Bring
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Valid Real Estate Sales License required; Broker License preferred
- 12+ years of progressive sales experience, including both in-house and field sales
- 7+ years of multi-site or regional sales leadership experience
- Background in homebuilding, residential real estate, or a related industry required
- Proven success developing and executing strategic sales plans
- Experience managing telephone and in-person sales teams
- Deep understanding of market trends and industry dynamics
- Proven ability to negotiate complex deals and coach teams on effective negotiation strategies
- Strong presentation skills, with experience engaging both small and large audiences
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, actionable messaging
- Collaborative team player who values diverse perspectives and fosters inclusive decision-making
- Exceptional organizational and project management capabilities, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Skilled in conflict resolution and change management within dynamic environments
- Strong business acumen with a solid understanding of financial and operational drivers
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including strategic planning, driving results, and motivating high-performing teams
Requirements
- Consistent ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays on a regular basis
- Travel required within designated region
- Conduct business in a professional and ethical manner to potential buyers and external brokers to reinforce goodwill and profitability for the company

- Periodically works in outdoor weather conditions (for roles in Construction/Customer Service/Land/Sales).
- The position is located at the division office (address) and requires frequent travel between new home construction sales communities #LI-onsite
Compensation Details and Benefits
KB Home offers a competitive base pay. The expected range for this position is based on experience and is noted below, paid semi-monthly. Other rewards may include bonuses or role-specific awards.
