Your Role as a Volunteer Coordinator

As our Volunteer Coordinator, you will be responsible for the coordination and growth of volunteer support services for Hummingbird House and enhancing the partnership within WMQ Volunteer Services. Key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Coordination and enhancement of the volunteer program including volunteer recruitment and programs in line with the child/ guest and family-centred model of care provided at Hummingbird House.

  • Grow the volunteer cohort at Hummingbird house.

  • Providing a point of communication, engagement and co-ordination for volunteers at Hummingbird House.

  • Implementing recognition practices to support volunteer retention strategies.

  • Coordination of allocated budgets and regular financial reporting for volunteers.

This is a permanent part-time opportunity consisting of 24 hours per week.

What We’re Looking For

  • Leadership skills, as well as ability to coordinate, recruit & supervise volunteers or staff.

  • Skills to engage community stakeholders, networks and community organisations both in house and in community.

  • Previous experience growing programs.

A Valuable Addition, Yet Not a Must-Have!

  • Experience in palliative care and end of life care, disability, education, or family support work contexts.

Essential Requirements

  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination status (or as required by legislation and WMQ policy)

  • Relevant probity checks required by legislation and WMQ Limited policy.

  • Current Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel for work.
