VP Engineering
You will build and lead a high-performing engineering organisation, define technical vision, guide architectural decisions, and ensure delivery of scalable, secure, and reliable platforms and products. You will work with Product, Design, and Operations to deliver the roadmap, drive engineering execution, embed CI/CD and observability, and maintain onboarding and documentation to support rapid scaling. You will monitor KPIs, manage budgets and headcount planning, mentor engineers, and ensure data security, privacy, and regulatory compliance are integrated into engineering practices.
Responsibilities
- Lead the recruitment, development, and retention of a world-class engineering team.
- Set and execute the engineering vision and technical direction in partnership with executive and product leadership.
- Define and deliver engineering strategy that enables scalable and secure growth of the platform and services.
- Drive engineering execution to ensure timely, high-quality delivery across all teams.
- Establish and monitor KPIs to track performance, code quality, system stability and deployment efficiency.
- Promote a culture of feedback, mentorship and career development through structured reviews and ongoing coaching.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Operations to align on priorities and roadmap planning.
- Champion modern development practices including CI/CD, testing, observability, and agile methodologies.
- Oversee architectural planning and ensure sound technical decision-making across backend, frontend, and infrastructure.
- Manage engineering budgets, headcount planning and resource allocation in alignment with company goals.
- Advocate for engineering needs and priorities at the leadership level, balancing business goals and technical feasibility.
- Maintain and evolve onboarding processes, documentation, and workflows to support rapid team scaling.
- Embed data security, privacy, and regulatory compliance into the Engineering culture.
Requirements
- 10-15 year experience in engineer leadership roles, ideally within fintech, SaaS, or tech-enabled services.
- Proven experience leading engineering teams at high-growth tech companies or scale-ups (ideally in fintech or related industries).
- Deep technical expertise across modern architectures and cloud-based platforms.
- Strong track record of managing and growing high-performing, distributed engineering teams.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Passion for building secure, scalable, and customer-centric platforms.
- Hands-on experience with agile development, DevOps culture, and continuous delivery pipelines.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to align engineering strategy with overall company objectives.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and thriving in fast-paced, evolving environments.
